I can see Samsung making a traditional Galaxy phone with squeezable frame on its edges.

This seems to be based on the U11, squeeze feature and all. The U11 is currently one of the prettiest smartphones out there, especially the Solar Red version.
It's plain disturbing how Google took one of the prettiest smartphones and turned it into one of the most ugly smartphones, the Pixel 2.

Since it's not the main/important feature (it's just additional), so I think it's not worth making a fuss about. It's not that you can't receive a call or can't turn on your screen if the squeeze feature is worthless or stupid for you. Just don't use it. Simple, isn't it? It won't make your phone useless or decreasing your productivity in using your phone.

If you're saying "hey it's a feature so maybe they should make a useful one instead of making one that is so useless", then I'm also thinking the same. It's not so useful but again it's not a feature that sacrifices other feature to work. For example, the bixby button. If we don't like to use bixby, it can't be remapped to be used for other apps so that's a wasted button. But in this squeeze case, If we don't like it, we are not forced to use it, right? So just disable it.

Some people love using rugged cases too. Some even use metal cases. Squeeze feature is the strangest thing manufacturer ever invented. Feels like a bad 60's tv commercial trying to sell a gimmicky product. It will eventually failed and forgotten. Look at pressure sensitive display. Did that really kick off very well? Is it even adopted by every single major manufacturer yet? 3D touch my butt. Not even useful much.

Hopefully they (mostly the XL) will be of the highest level (as specs, features, etc), and so that they can compete for the highest spot with the Note 8, V30 and so on.

I think it may surprise us quite nice actually. Last years looked absolutely beautiful in store, so will be keen to see this years. Renders of any phone and non refined presentations of images don't do any phone justice, so lets wait and see Googles new product.
