Think those c shaped bits on the sides are antenna bands, and maybe that stripe on the back?
Seems confirmed back and sides are a single metal panel.
AnonD-643330, 16 Aug 2017I think that large hole is for NFC ! What you think guys?!Yep, that little n is a marker for nfc, good idea putting it there instead of the front.
Phone beauty is subjective, if relevant at all to some.
But... ergonomics is not. Those sharp corners are NOT acceptable, and I have scar tissues to prove it from the XZ.
Granted, some people would hold the phone in a way that the corners are irrelevant, but if the corner where a bit round, both camps would be happy.
The Xperia X was perfect in ergonomics, and "personally, I think " it looked better.
Also, sharp corners=very easy to dent and scratch at those corners, so a case becomes all the more necessary (which many do still hate to use)
[deleted post]And you better don't comment on something you don't like. If Sony is so bad why you bother to comment? To start an argument?
I like sony smartphones, i really do. I have a z5 and i love it. BUT, we are in 2017, and Sony keeps on making phones with bigger bezels than their previous models.
My z5 is 146mm, and xz1 is rumoured to be 146,8mm? why is Sony keeps on doing this? Especially in an era of bezeless phones.
I do get that they have their own design language but they could at least make it 144mm.. show some progress. And a camera hump? Really Sony? Take a look at your Z series then go back to designing your next phone.
AnonD-690051, 16 Aug 2017sony fanboys think that bezel has similar function to car's bumper. but actualy it doesnt. w... moreWhat a lame excuse and comparison,so you tell that bezel dont add durability to a phone right? Than why s8 active not use their gimmick edge instead add bezel? And more why phone for extreme outdoor usage like samsung xcover series use much bezel than their normal, midrange?why not use edge? Haha you excuse is funny and invalid.. :)
AnonD-647900, 16 Aug 2017Slow-mo is a massive gimmick only enthusiasts use that crappy feature lol "cough,if 960fps slow mo is gimmick, than bixby, edge screen and iris scanner is much worst gimmick right :)
I nearly bought a compact once. They do a nice job on some of their products. Displays are beautiful. Stylish. Look forward to better images.
New Sony phones do look beautiful and classy, they just stand out from the rest of the bunch.
But that 3D creator new thingie and extra sensor besides nfc interests me more, what are those?
AnonD-647900, 16 Aug 2017Slow-mo is a massive gimmick only enthusiasts use that crappy feature lol sorry but slow mo is a great feature. the most useless feature is rounded corner which is impractical, reducing the content view.
AnonD-647900, 16 Aug 2017Lmao another brilliant excuse. sony fanboys think that bezel has similar function to car's bumper.
but actualy it doesnt. when we drive a car, the bumper always receives impact first during accident. thats why cars need bumper.
phone is very different. when we drop our phone, any parts of its body have the same probability to hit the floor first. if we are very lucky, the bezel hits floor first. in most cases.. the screen or the back hits floor first.
AnonD-647900, 16 Aug 2017Slow-mo is a massive gimmick only enthusiasts use that crappy feature lol 960 fps Slow Mo is a unique camera feature not crappy feature. So, if your favourite company does 960 fps first, I know that you would say it is the best feature on smartphone. And if your favourite company copied the feature , you would say it is "better" than Sony, right?
Sony Fanboy Bitches, 16 Aug 2017The lack of 960fps is not state of the art anymore, not in 2018.Slow-mo is a massive gimmick only enthusiasts use that crappy feature lol

1. all smarphones can do smart tasks
2. xperias dont attrack people because most people avoid it. thats why sony's mobile division always suffer lowest sales.
3. xperias are ugly. bezels are too large, most people dont want to buy it.

I'll definitely use it to those people that kept on saying that Sony mobile division will go down because of loss of profits, without even doing their researches.
And to add a cherry on top of the icing, I got these on my side:

To sell a phone you should make it compelling
Sony isn'tCompelling? Compelling at what?

I thought smartphones are made for doing smart tasks, not to attract customers and please them with beauty.
XZ Premium has a nice design on its own, and you'll only be noticing its different design when you put it side-by-side to a different phone - you do that all the time, don't you?
I can slap those bezels on you along with its class-leading stereo sounding speakers and one of the best front camera from a flagship device.
Small bezels? What's that? Fragility? LMAO!

And since I have a case (But doesn't protects the front of the screen), there is no crack at all. Fyi, I never apply a screen protector yet on my smartphone
Anonymous, 16 Aug 2017There is no justification for those huge bezels
They could be less

-Dual front stereo speakers
-13mp AF 1/3.06" front camera (same sensor as LG G6's main cam)
-superior drop resistance of the screen panel
If those things aren't enough justifications for you, I just don't know what.
'Cause iPhones also have large bezels but I don't see anyone complaining about them as much as they do on Sony phones, which actually serves great practical purposes.
