AceShot, 17 Aug 2017Iphone uses different OS. Not Android and different CPU arhitekture."Try playing a game that need 3 or 4 cores. Then open youtube to watch walkthtough with browser open and other small aps. You can't do it on 4 cores Soc."

You never said you were speaking of just Android. It isn't a different architecture, still is based on ARM.

And, it doesn't work just cause it's iOS, you get the same results on Android if they make a powerful enough dual core. What I'm trying to point out is, core count doesn't matter, only their power. For example, a Snapdragon 430 (with 8 cores) can't hold a candle to Snapdragon 820 (with 4 cores).

I plays LEGO Star Wars TCS, which one of the levels can be very CPU-heavy, on my Asus Zenfone Max w/ Snapdragon 410, which is a chip with 1.2Ghz 4xCortex A53. I can still watch playthroughs and play the game at the same time.

AnonD-59899, 17 Aug 2017Dude... Core count never matters. When an app is switched out it doesn't get priority anymore,... moreIt will kill you the game or the apps. Open Cpu monitor and you will see cores are working even if the game is switched and other app are open. Also Phones with 4 cores usually have 2gb ram which is not enough. More cores and more Ram definetely makes the difference. And 4 core phones usually are 1.2-1.4 Ghz which again is pretty low nowdays and for the future. For now and future 6 or 8 core soc on 1.5ghz-2.0ghz is perfect with adreno 506 or better, why you thinkg they made SD450 , more power is needed at lower sergment.

what's the point of a P30 with A72? Wasn't the A73 simply a more power efficient version of the A72? the PXX is the power efficient line so why are they using A72 ?!?

When an app is switched out it doesn't get priority anymore, it just stays in RAM till you get back to it in a suspended state with minimum CPU usage.

I'm not claiming they would do in same fashion as Qualcomm, but something similar is expected.

                                      My thoughts...
Helio P30 might have a unique core arrangement, like maybe 1x A73 and 4x A53 and 3x A35. There is simply no way Mediatek is going to waste the A35 here...
As for GPU why not a triple core? 1ghz is too much power usage, so for the P30 will have a G72 MP3. (or G71).
                                      For the P23 I have no idea, maybe a high clocked A35 CPU, like 6x A35 @1.8ghz or 4x A53@2.4 ghz+4x A35 @1.8ghz
