They should've differentiated by going mid-range instead of low-end.
A 2:1 FHD would've made more sense at this size (1080 x 2160) for acceptable density.
          And a step up to a QSD 660. Or a QSD 653/652, maybe even a QSD 650.
Those two decent upgrades, and put another $50 on top.....
....now its competitive and will sell hot hoT hOT

Saying it rebranded phone is not correct. But it still felt like a rip off from LG Q6. Even copied the display trademark branding 'Full Vision' from LG.

Anonymous, 23 Aug 2017lol, It LG the first one to release infinity display (LG G6)LG started copying Samsung with the LG G6. Just because LG rushed with G6 and released it a month before S8 it doesn't mean LG started the nonsense aspect ratio. S8 design was already finished at that time. The rumors already revealed the non-standard aspect ratio of S8 way before the G6 release. LG just rushed in copying the bad things from S8 because they misunderstood and had misconceptions about the failure/low sales of G5. So they think if they copy Samsung they will increase the sales. I'm glad that G6 remained a failure. Maybe LG will learn next time the REAL reasons of their failures (bad reputation from poor quality of LG phones: bootloops, shattergate, screen retention, poor/loose modular design in G5, ugly back design (G4's design was better than G5's...).

Maybe there is a chance that the display was actually sourced from LG?

What does have that to do with anything? He meant Xiaomi, Huawei (their own chips too), Oppo, Vivo, OnePlus, Lenovo etc. Us indians? Just some rehashed, rebranded china phones. We're 3rd world so at least we have that as an excuse.
