While every other manufacturer going nuts reducing bezel into nothingness, I find Sony take a quite interesting different route on phone design.
Clearly, they're not designing to pleasing us the customers en masse. Rather, they design their phones to match Japanese take on minimalism. I find it aesthetically pleasing to put this phone on a very minimalistic and stark white coffee shop in Tokyo, sipping caffe latte while listening to JPop band "Perfume" or Utada Hikaru. Anything else? Nope. Subjectively it won't aestethically match at all for me.
When will they change their design language? Only time will tell. We all know how stubborn Sony is at product design. Feels like they're living at their own world ignoring almost all people who wants a whole new Xperia design.

Omg look at those bezels wtf they mange to do the ugliest phones throughout history of smartphones come on sony what are doing design now is strong selling point sony looks like unable to make good looking phones but atleast they did not copying iphones like samsung lg htc hauwei

Maybe even in f1.6 area.
FHD HDR screen looks just glorious...
Full metal build now, with antenna strips? (I dont like that), oddly positioned too (maybe not just antenna stripes, wireless charging tech?)
And Im still wondering about that 3D creator, and that extra sensor on the back, right to NFC logo?

Dear Sony, how many years you will take to change the designs of your phones? Apart from what you put inside, design also plays a major role in getting more customers to your side.

Don't be caught up in the whole bezeless trend. First of all you will always need a bottom bezel in order to use to phone properly with one hand until Android changes something on the software side and I doubt that will ever happen.
S8 while striking in design is miserable at doing even the basic functions with one hand, Android navigation bar sits so low that you need to rest the bottom of the phone on your pinky in order to reach it with your thumb but you are risking at dropping the phone due to imbalance or you need wierd thumb dips and cramped movements to achieve the same thing while holding it as usual. In other words phones like S8/G6 are two handed devices and you might be ok with that but I'm sure most of the people are not even aware of the fact how hard they are to use with one hand.

1. Better build design.
2. Better screen protection in case of bad drops/shocks.
3. Easy to make in corners glass scratches.
4. Glove mode is very accurate.
5. Perfect compatibility with screen protectors made from glass.
6. Bezel-less devices have problems holding in hands regarding bad commands/touches while in call or taking pictures. Also very bad design using it underwater for some waterproof devices.
7. Most bezels have a manual camera button - so better camera dexterity (Xperia models wins here hands down)!
