It's high time Sony made a big change to their design (and I don't mean subtle changes here ans there). When Samsung, LG and even (reluctant to change) Apple have adopted bezel-less designs, Sony has no excuse. Because no matter how good your phone is on the inside, it will only attract people & sales if the exterior looks stunning too.

But Sony is still miles better than Apple & HTC who remove important features such as the 3.5 mm headphone jack.

I would only buy the compact one. Regular one is just huge. I like small phones.

I'll give them that they can make phones with big bezels which still look good. I also appreciate how they don't mess up the great design with every generation, but instead perfect the existing design to fit the new and moved components. But they could, at least slowly, start to make those bezels smaller, even if it's just a little bit per generation (like they did when moving from Z1 to Z2 to Z3 to Z3+). I mean this new one looks pretty classy, but it is just an old-looking design with those bezels, it's like the iPhone 4 which also looks classy still today, but the design got too big bezels for today's standards.

If they look the same, there's a HUGE difference in specifications.

zodiacfml, 24 Aug 2017Phone from 2014A man from 2014? NOTE 8 is being criticized for being bezelless awkward, Sony is being critized for the most bezelled, people say bezelled phones are from 2014 and forget what phone is actually meant to be. Huuuuuuuuuuft!

The top left and right sides seem to have some sort of cutouts, which maybe are the plastic antennas of the phone, which makes the rest of the sides purely made of metal.

Sony release a new flagship every 6 months yet they still can't keep up with the competition.

Sides and back are metal unibody. Antenna lines are on the sides.
