Galaxy Note 8 is a complete failure.
Unwanted curved edges: the Extra Fragile display has Super Glares on the edges. The s-pen slips off the screen better (thanks to the curved edges). The display is also much more expensive to replace, as curved screens cost more.
Fragile glass back: when the phone drops, you can now break it too!
The only fact that there's NO FLAT SCREEN ALTERNATIVE at all, is a new insult to galaxy note power users (that already have rage due to non-removable, non-user replaceable battery).
No stereo speakers... Screen edges still there (compare it with truly innovative edgeless phones like Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 or Sharp Aquos Crystal 2)...
Insanely inflated price: 1000€ is more than some good laptops that will last 4 or 5 years, while a fragile glass phone with non-removable battery will maybe survive 1 year if you are lucky and never drop it.
Another HUGE disadvantage is that Note 8 weights 200 grams (while Note 4 weights 176 grams which is too much already, this keeps annoying it even during the end of the 3rd year of use)...
That's why i think samsung makes us, loyal galaxy note users, jump off the ship and buy something truly innovative like Xiaomi Mi Mix 2... I will gladly ditch stylus in favour of truly edgeless screen.
Overall, GN8 is the worsted scenario
Too many No: (FM Radio) (stereo speakers according to this matter: bought Harman cardon by semsung) (very fragility body instead aluminum unibody) (pure android) (holographic display)and... Ahah, overpriced...! Lol
Glass, small battery, and above all again stupid fps placing. Not to mention cool edge screen. Only 2/3 new s-pen features. Crazy price. This poll should have "its okay, but not much more" option. I'd buy it if I had too much money. Contract is not an option.
Luxor, 27 Aug 2017Why your name Apple Pro? I dont see a single iphone in your profile. Odd.that's cuz i had only pretty cheap devices, never had iphone:(

Nope, waiting for iPhone 8
I am xperia fan, but to be honest this phone is really good. I miss stylus pen on xperia phones like p900 has it. I also like dock station for note8, so can connect it to monitor. The only thing I dont like is curved display. I would like to have flat edge screen.
Nice but dont need or want a stylus and its a bit big. The 8 is fine, very smart though not a huge fan of the Samsungs backs etc.
No rush and with so many "other" refined high end beasts out and others pending shortly to come out, its worth the wait.
The Galaxy Note 8 will help Samsung get some money while its vice chairman is in jail. Gotta feed those executives somehow. Samsung thanks their fans for their loyalty.
Main disadvantage of this device - tiny accumulator. Yes, it's tiny, because Note series is for people who use phablets more often than others. It's equivalent to 2000 mAh for average user. Note 8 has to fit 4500 mAh. Nor it's just too expensive toy only for these people who will buy this phone just because.
It may not be perfect but certainly better than some others copy brand

And the not & is really not the only one with issues. There are tons of complaints about swelling batteries. It's so bad i google searched "battery bulged XXXXXX (Another brand)" and it still returned results for bulging Samsung batteries...lol.
Luxor, 27 Aug 2017You know what I would do if I were you. I would use OTG flash drive instead. Transfer all file... moreLOL i agree with the "don't buy a flagship" part. I always buy phones up to $350 max. If it's gonna be crappy anyway, at least i won't pay much for it.
The OTG part...there's no way. I listen to my music files on random play and i can't just decide "Well today i'm gonna delete these and these files and then i'll add them later" and delete other files/mp3s". And it gets especially ridiculous with a "flagship" costing tons on money. If they start putting 128GB storage (Which they should), i'd agree there's no need for an sd card. But then again, the non-removable batteries combined with glass back (Almost impossible to replace even at a service center) remain a huge issue so unless they fix that too, flagships are a really bad idea. And more importantly, they really don't deserve that money...
If the note 7 didn't explode and i didn't have to give mine back, i probably wouldn't ultimately get the note 8. But since it is what it is, then note 8 it is.

Transfer all files you dont need or use anymore. Or if you want to open files, document or videos not in the phone, use the OTG function for it. Should be good enough solution if you use dual sims. If not, your main option would be to buy a midrange phone. Dont even dream of flagship. Some flagship dont even offer sd slot.
No
Anonymous, 27 Aug 2017 No. It wasn't. But it leaves little choice inn the matter as well.
If they had at the very ... moreAre you the same guy I talked to on the other thread?
I agree with battery capacity but because a higher magnification lens takes up more room they have to compromise on the sensor and lens to fit it in the same amount of space as the main camera which has a lower magnification lens and thus more room for a larger sensor and larger aperture.
They should really work on folded optics though. If they reflected the light coming in from the aperture sideways using a mirror and then put all the elements and the sensor sideways along the phone there would be much more room to make a better lens and possibly add a larger sensor.
My point however is that it is impressive that they fit in a lens with a wider aperture and OIS than the iphone 7+ did with the same design principle.

It's just another ridiculous "innovation" they are forcing on people. The list is getting quite big, recently.
i think it is more comfortable using s-pen on 16:9 or 5:3 aspect ratio screen. drawing or something on tall screen is kinda eh
