I guess it would be make a lot more sense than the Sony app. But if you're not buying ikea furniture? maybe more ideas will come about after its released.

Something that has been available in app sto... moreAll I ve seen on playstore is one app in beta stage, that doesnt use real time rendering but 8 photographs from different angles to render simpler 3d objects, without any AR or 3D printing abilities....
Furthermore, I believe the power of sd 835 and its adreno 540 is a necessity for this to work properly. Wouldnt count on Mali graphics of some other toptier SoCs to be able to make this work properly.

Not even sure if it was really official but I think the app was by this company called Ikea? Just saying :)

The 3D Creator app is a very good feature because it has the AR capabilities and it can be used in the ARCore that Google is building and I think it can be used in the VR as well in the future. We all know Sony doesn't sell their phones as much as they use to but with this app they will have a new audience which are the people who work on the 3D printers and the people who use the 3D printer in the whole world e.g business sector, hospitals ,etc. because no phone does this except if Apple makes it the new iPhone.
Sony is coming back into the original plan which they've started in 2013 and they're starting to change. Most of the people like to comment on the bezels and the design and hate on them, but, the never notice the changes and the new things Sony are doing.
By the way, JDI is doing a reform in the business and they're shifting into OLED next year and in the end of this year they've acquired JOLED. They want to work with big companies and for sure thing Apple is one of them and even in the TV sector.
So, Sony will do OLED phones by next year since they sell small quantities smartphones.

You can scan for example a table at the store, and then AR that furniture into your living room so you and others can see what that furniture looks like in your home without having the actual object.
But i guess that would take 2 trips.
