Android is very customizable but I prefer default launcher of any phone. Also I use default wallpapers and ringtones. Every phone is unique for me. When it cames to user interface Sony is the best.

Why doesn't LG add an option to customize the system-wide themes easily, so people wouldn't have to use an apk editor and do it in a complicated way...

Anonymous, 11 Sep 2017Of course phones at the stores will run more smoothly because they don't have the rubbish apps... moreXA Ultra has the same exact hardware as the normal XA with just more RAM. Another great friend of mine owns one and it just never stutters except on times when running tasks that the SoC isn't capable of running (but in comparison, the J5 2016 is unusable at those times).

So it's still applicable, and by the fact that you've made mention of bloats has just proven my point that Samsung phones have really terrible performance at their best. Androids have been so optimized back then that even low end processors will run just fine with Android OS, yet funnily Samsung cannot achieve this thing.
You know what's funny? LG G6 with SD821 beats the Galaxy S8 with E8895 in speed.

There should be a clear option for 3rd-party ones, such as Nova Launcher. This allows to tell apart those who buy a certain brand for the exclusive skin, from those who buy stock Android from the get-go, also considering those who may buy a brand with a crappy launcher that they despise (but which they can change to something like Nova, thanks to Android allowing to do that).

Trump Fan 1980, 11 Sep 2017 There are OEMs that you didn't include: (BlackBerry and Sharp for example) but, I appreciate ... moreHey, it's you again : )

I already listed Blackberry in the honourable mentions.
I totally forgot about Sharp, that brand is very niche, I didn't see anyone have one outside of Tokyo. However, its UI/Launcher not very intuitive or fluid compared to other phones with even worse specs, so you shouldn't praise it.

I forgot about the Microsoft Metro/Zune Launchers (such as MetroUI and AP15 Launcher) however if I mentioned all the launchers, I would've needed a lot more space. Just goes to show how popular and customisable Android is.
However, Nokia's old testbed "Z Launcher" shouldn't be mentioned as that App is now discontinued. It's about 1.5 years, almost 2 years, without any progress just to keep you in the loop.

Apple won't ever license iOS or macOS X for other companies to use. They're not going to give away their gold laying goose to anyone. They're smarter than you and me, they will continue their predictable releases and make Billions.

I was expecting to see launchers.
I prefer Samsung's UI, but mostly because of the notification quick toggle, stock is too fiddly.
I use Nova Launcher for the launcher. And then even if I switch brands, I can keep my UI mostly.

Poor survey. I'm using Nova launcher for the past few years just to remove the Google search bar, change the background of the app list/drawer, and scrolling app dock. Additional feature I use is double tap to lock.

My phone's screen is basically the wallpaper itself and the status bar. Swipe up for the Apps list/drawer.

Grace UX and Nova ftw. Stock is not really that functional, as i like, like the best audio player ive ever seen in sams ui etc.
Also Stock and Motorola are the same launchers. They are just stock.

They offer just enough customization.. I'm more impressed by their autotag in music app... Google stock is one of the worst skins.. Been using on a nexus.. Not impressed.. Samsung TouchWiz was rusty but lately polished.. Though efficiency is questionable unless you take the edge apps into account.. And obviously ios has the most retarded layout with no freedom whatsoever

TechLover1, 10 Sep 2017It's definitely better that there is the option of multiple choices. True. Apple could partner with another manufacturer and add their iOS to another companies equipment (be it altered or not), but has chosen not too.
