I've recently contacted Samsung regarding the Nougat update for the J7 Prime in the Philippines. Unfortunately this was their reply.
"We understand the need of getting a higher version of a Software for your Samsung Galaxy J7 Prime (SM-G610Y). We are here to provide you with necessary information about your concern.
Please be advised that updates are released by Google globally. However, to ensure the compatibility of the software to the locally released device, Every Samsung subsidiary needs to perform multiple tests. This is also to guarantee the security of the user
However, after several compatibility tests and technical diagnosis, we are sorry to tell that the Nougat update will no longer be available to J7 Prime units released in the Philippines. Kindly note that Galaxy J7 Prime will only support Android OS Marshmallow.
We apologize for the limited assistance we can provide regarding this matter."

Yesterday i went to an authorized service center of samaung. I ask them to check my phone because i thought it was broken or has problem on its system because there's no update in android. While my classmate has the same phone which is Samsung j7 prime brought from other country and has an update for its android. And i tell that to the lady in the counter and she told me that there would be no update for the android in j7 prime

You dont have to manually update you phone you just have to wait till the update hit your country as you can see on those websites some regions are getting nougat Australia n New Zealand already have their nougat

All variants of the J7 Prime has this chip. How is it not compatible? It even bypasses the requirements to updating to Android Nougat.

Anonymous, 07 Apr 2018WhyI was reaching samsung support about J7 Prime Nougat update and they tell me that J7-Prime or G610F/DS will not have the update since our J7-Prime is not compatible with the nougat OS. They are saying that it has compatibility issues.
The question here is why J5 and other lower models got the nougat update and J7 prime ( PRIME ) remains at 6.0 version...
