OnePlus 5 is almost as fast in terms of raw speed while being faster in animations. But XZ Premium is not in the top 10. and iPhone 8 will just totally dominate them all, that's for sure.

And android is moving to that system as well with android oreo.

I don't care about cores, I care about performance. If the move to 4 BIG cores would make the single core score decrease, it would be a bummer. If the move to 4 big cores wouldn't make a difference, I'm fine with it. If they decide to make the A11 as big as the upper part of the phone and use 16 big cores with better performance than their respective predecessor cores (the hurricane cores), I'm fine with it. And I won't buy a phone which is much bigger in body size than my iPhone 7. If the screen on that is twice as big while maintaining the same body size, again I'm fine with it. And I don't need more than 326ppi, but if apple decides to upgrade their display resolution while not decreasing the performance, I'm still fine with it. That's the difference between just saying hard numbers and thinking beyond it instead of saying "this is good" or "this is bad".

People forget that ios and android are fundamentally different in nearly every way and have different requirements. It doesn't mean one is better than the other, but that's just what they need to run well.
