[deleted post]If the massess buy depending upon the brand name then they never buy samsung either they go for apple or nokia. Only geeks knows that samsung is emerging now but the non-geeks just knows that only nokia, apple are the best.
AnonD-2486, 01 Jun 2011I thing you don't know anything about AMOLED displays. Let me explain you some things. Nokia d... moreDude only same nokia n8 c7 has problem :( . But nokia e7 c6-01 not has any problem :) :) . I
[deleted post]Sadly but true..
If you do a defective optic laser for the PS3 the reputation of that product will be ruined because ALL the buyer will think ALL the PS3 are defective..
Alas Samsung, this will hurt not only sales, credibility too, since they will note Samsung standard quality is very inferior, and at a grade that same Samsung is suffering in their own phones their buggy screens...
[deleted post]Belive me or not :) as you wish :) but i used samsung i5700 800mhz but slow :( and camera so bad even 4years old nokia n73 camera way better :) . Samsung galaxy s has gps problem :( samsung nexus s 4g network issues :( and now samsung galaxy ace battery display problems :( and android king aka galaxy sII YELLOW display problem :(
Ashura, 01 Jun 2011So what if people know? It´s not going to change anything. Its not because of this"de... moreYes it will. You're delusional to think that the masses will buy a defective device. Sansung don't have the brand name that Apple does and it all depends on how Samsung will react to this "yellowgate" fiasco. One wrong move and the public will see Samsung's products not worthy of its high price tag.
[deleted post]May be you won't believe but more than 31,671 people believe....
[deleted post]I thing you don't know anything about AMOLED displays. Let me explain you some things. Nokia doesn't produces AMOLED displays it made a deal with samsung to get amoled displays but due to samsung's poor quality nokia n8, nokia c7 are suffering from purple tint and may be soon C6-01 and e7 will also suffer... So i just clear you one point that is due to samsung, n8 didn't sell much.
[deleted post]So what if people know? It´s not going to change anything. Its not because of this"defect" that people are not going to buy this phone. It´s barely noticable and your not going to see it unless your actualy looking for it wich barely anyone does.So knowing or not knowing is the same thing because the phone is still great and this IS NOT A DEAL BREAKER get that trough your thick, fanboy head
We all better get to the point, according to me what The Boy with Red Hat mentioned was right, Samsung are only producing inferior quality products so that they can concentrate on CPU,GPU,RAM etc but the result is all companies are suffering for ex, Nokia, HTC, even samsung itself. I just pray to God that samsung should produce good qualtiy of AMOLED screens so that nokia shouldn't suffer.
AnonD-291, 01 Jun 2011The yellow tint is barely visible ONLY when the screen is filled with grey background and the ... moreThe point here is the poor quality of samsung screens...Nokia, Samsung among others suffers the same problems with samsung displays.
This speaks by itself of a poor standar quaility products from Samsung, and poor inspections...If they do defective products for their own...and tahtt's maybe the main reason for the delay in USA, they don't fill the quality needs for USA/Americas market..
Only God knows to the rest of us what's samsung is going to bring!!!
Nokias bad screens is also Samsung defective AMOLED screens, because one of my old nokias 6300 has an beautyfull colores screen...
"Anyway we wouldn’t call the display issue a deal-breaker" really ?
& the phone's selling point is the screen ?
[deleted post]there were no any china phones available in my country those days.lol. btw it had a great 3.2 MP "carl zeiss lens" too.hik hik hik
It is time to choose between SONY LG HTC.
IF you look at the XDA thread you will discover that there are complaints for other SAMOLED+ problems.
And AMOLED kind screens were known for "burn in" (permanent ghost images) and for lost in brightness.
Witnesses for "burn in" in Amoled kind screens (you will find many other witnesses like this on the web):
Lose brightness (up to 10% for blue in only 100 hours):
Avoid amoled kind screens.
If you want a quality screen without issues, look at Xperia Arc or LG Black
This barely qualifies as news it´s barely visibale and barely interesting. Not a deal breaker, not notice worthy AT ALL
Also will you people stop talking about each others usernames that is simply stupid nuff said
[deleted post]The yellow tint is barely visible ONLY when the screen is filled with grey background and the brightness is set to 10%. Even after it, the yellow tint is very faint which means you'll have to go look for them. Just like how gsmarena describes it: "we noticed it only upon a really, really close inspection". The advantages of amoled byfar overweighs it.
So you have it, looks like nokia fanboys are more worried that galaxy users. Guess what the tint may just disappear as it did on iphone 4 and the ipad 2. Who knows ?
Umm...It really is not a big deal. I mean come on. It's not a damn tv. it's a mobile phone's screen and most of you didn't even notice the yellow thing before. My samsung LED tv and most TVs don't have uniform panels and cost much more than a phone yet we don't make a deal out of it.
Also, I won't be surprised if they fix it with an update. An oled tv does not have back-light causing the uniformity issues of backlit screens so it may be something software related.
I want a SGS2 and that is not a deal breaker, still miles ahead the other displays.
to me SGS2 already left me a bad taste in my mouth. bought a brand new one from UK in the launch day, living in romania, and after a week of reboots and shutdowns for no reasons, not to mention the reset operation done so many times, firmware updates by the official way i ended up by giving up and head to a repair shop approved by samsung. there i`ve found out that some secret component is damaged by a secret reason and it will be replaced. the cause of the damage and the damaged component will not be disclosed to me as the owner of the phone, it will only be disclosed to samsung representatives. so i`ve bought a new phone in the launch day, already broken, with a secret damage and i didnt get the chance to use the phone since 04.05.2011, the date of purchase. all my emails to samsung representatives had no response, as well my comments on their facebook wall had no answer. romanian representatives of samsung told me that their policy is to repair the phone and if it can not be repaired then it will be exchanged with a new one, despite the thing that my phone was sent for sale already damaged. anyway, i`m speachless about samsung products and services since i`ve sold my omnia i8910, due to the fact that samsung dropped their support for symbian devices and shutdown their servers and websites. well done samsung!
[deleted post]im not throwing any phone i used away. I just add them to my collection. so nobody needs to worry about environment.ha ha ha :D
[deleted post]Me? I just dislike people who can't rationalize and can't use logic, heavily opinionated and have false influence on others. Maybe I'm too ambitious.
I especially dislike ill-mannered trolls like Gurushant blatantly discussing Nokia with absolutely no relevance to the article itself. I look forward to GSMA getting rid of half his comments which are violating the posting rules.
I do own a Samsung device currently, nothing to boast about. I do follow new devices closely so I can upgrade soon. I don't look for certain maker, but currently, it's obvious to me that SGSII is the best phone out now and it's my next potential phone. Still looking around though.
