Macintosh failed commercially but got everyone interacting a computer with a mouse which was invented two decades earlier. Newton was an early pioneer of PDA years before Palm Pilot.
iPod - Put a 1,000 songs in your pocket. Beat that, Peter Quinn.
iTunes - Viable solution to Napster and illegal downloading. Created an ecosystem.
iPhone - Apple's most popular and greatest achievement. Multi-touch was a breakthrough and most fluid UI of release.
App Store - Before July 2008, there really were so sites to download apps.
iPad - Ignited the tablet revolution and the only successful products for the market.
Apple makes products that have changed the world. How many Samsung products in their 70-year history have revolutionized multiple industries? Galaxy Note in 2011 is only one thanks to ushering phablets and bringing back stylus on capacitive. What else?
Their innovations isn't even as long as Sony's or IBM's. Samsung is a copycat brand in a copycat industry. Curved display is garbage. There is not ONE product where you can actually remember it was from Samsung who revolutionized that specific market. While we wouldn't have personal computers if it wasn't for Apple. Which then led PDAs and smartphones.
Try being innovative consistently the last 40 years instead of the last 6-7. Google and Samsung wouldn't even be in the same position today if it wasn't for Apple II, Macintosh, and iPhone. Apple became a patent troll because of Microsoft stealing the GUI that Apple licensed from Xerox. Google just followed Microsoft's scheme and offered it to OEMs. History repeated itself.
There is alot more history with Apple beyond just the iPhone or iPod. What's Google and Samsung greatest hits in innovation again? How long is that? Try 40+ years trying to make a dent in the universe and in your bank account.

iPhone 8 really is two times (sometimes even 4-5) faster than Note 8 in real life use.
It's hard to understand how slow those Android phones really are

Nothing special, Apple is behind with innovation. They just copy Android phones.

As often as I need to read "if you could afford an iphone you would buy one" I have to answer "I can afford it and I would never". In my world "good" doesn't equal "expensive". I have had tons of phones and other devices from several manufacturers and they were mostly equal when it came to performance, build-quality and equipment. Apple sells an image of "perfection", which I will never understand. Their phnoes are made by foxconn. They build nearly EVERY other phone too. Their Displays? Samsung. Their RAM? Samsung, Kingston?! Their cameras? Well don't know, but not Apple ;) You get my point, apple "designs" the same phones that xiaomi, huawei, oppo, motorola designs and lets it build where every other company build phones. What you pay for is a lot of advertisement with great actors (costly), good music (costly), extended length (costly) and software. So the only reason to buy an apple product is: software. And hell, I hate every OS the spit out their cuppertino earthholes. I wouldn't even recommend it to my mom. So again, why again should I pay DOUBLE the price for a phone I already own?

I don't know if this even a deciding factor for others, but for me YES.
As long as apple being cocky I'll never use their product.

It's not tiny improvement, it makes huge difference in photography the kind of photos you can take, for example i take lot of photos at concerts and even when you are in front row you are too far for most of the time. 2x zoom gets you lot closer which means lot better overall photos because you don't need to crop your photo to get subject closer.

Only 3gb RAM when iOS11 is catered only to 64-bit apps and iPad's multi-tasking will be the X's greatest weakness in the long run. Should've been 4gb. The iPhone 5s is already showing its age with iOS11 with just 1gb.
Moroccan blue LG V30 for me or forget another cookie cutter smartphone altogether. Too quick to die on us, 2-3 yrs tops. Better get a Nintendo Switch with the Mario Odyssey bundle instead. My Jordan 7 retros lasted longer than my smartphones. 5 yrs > 2-3 yrs.

The chart speak itself. In my views that Apple have greats finish products but I only own iPod and iTouch years ago. Apple stopped me from its product was limiting me from sharing, iPhone Xpensive - Mediocre specs, it only iPhone 7 ++, iPhone 8 is 90% of iPhone 6S's spec, no expandable memory, Apple booted the headphone jack but they sale $9 for its adapter - clever!. I'm speechless. Apple must do something from here on out. This iPhone Xpensive, I couldn't add up that worth $1000 dollars. too bad for those already have been invested its technology with mediocre spec, Apple needs open the eyes and check out Android community. What is happening to iPhone 9?
