As I said, next year, you'll argue that no one sells more iPhones than Apple.

But we can't Rule out the possibility of a Midranger and A lower End Phone cause it was Under Google That the Moto G and Moto X We're Launched and both Did very Well

Also Google is Recently Going all out on the Android One Program So We Might See some New Android One Mid-range And Lower End From this New HTC - Google Merger.

HTC as a Brand Is not Viable or Popular Any More.

I hope that They will Also introduce midrange devices, but I doupt. Now They can develop new prototype phones so that other manufactures can produce similar but cheaper versions of those.
They can try new innovations without waiting someone else to produce them. So as I said, a good platform to new expensive prototype phones to Android platform.

It will happen as with Motorola. They will dismantle it, take advantage of what they can and will sell it to anyone. Hi Lenovo.

AnonD-234961, 20 Sep 2017They will announce that they are ready to be ruined by Google as it happened to Motorola. HTC is already ruined. They are in a worse situation than Motorola was back in 2011. People forget HTC began as an OEM/ODM from 1997-2006. They were an ODM for HP and Palm's WinMo devices. They quietly manufactured many resistive touchscreen smartphones and with a stylus for other brands. It wasn't until 2007 that they began branding their own smartphones.

I think this should have happened years ago. HTC was the OEM that made the T-Mobile G1, Nexus One, and Pixel. It only makes sense Google helps out Android's pioneer OEM. I also hope T-Mobile and Sprint can finally merge. I hope I can use my Sprint G5 on T-Mobile using compatible LTE bands. Google has deep enough pockets. I hope it happens tomorrow.

The glacial silver HTC One M7 (2013, seventh gen flagship) is still the most beautiful smartphone design ever. Better than any iPhone design including the 5s/SE and better than M8 and M9. I was using it yesterday next to my titanium silver Galaxy S7 edge. Both are gorgeous. I don't get why the S8/Note8 gets praised so much because both my phones look better.

Glass rears are terrible though and makes your fingers dirty and oily. That's my S7e's weakness. Needs cleaning all the time. My other phones get dirty just by holding that glass-rear. While the M7's matte metal rear in silver hides fingerprints very well. I wish Google/HTC recreates that same design except just upgrade the internal specs. My M7 is is still my favorite design ever although it is the slowest device I own.

In simple terms they are a R&D company that basically Researches and Designs Phones [Hardware & Software]
And Outsources it to an Hardware Manufacturer Which Manufactures the phone at a very low cost

Hence The profit margin that Apple has is huge according to estimates Apple makes about 600-700 $ per phone as profit

Unlike the other Manufacturers that Have to bear all the costs for hardware and software [R&D And Manufacturing]

Also last time I checked Samsung was trying to hard to get the Apple Processor Manufacturing [Apple A Series Chips ] and the OLed displays Contracts .... LoL

Can you see that black cloud in the sky? Oh yeah, they are vultures patiently waiting for the sale at a bargain price of what is left of HTC when Google finishes its plucking, I mean their job. Lenovo see you.

I don't get it... if HTC holds no interesting patents and Google wants to use HTC manufacturing facilities to make their phones, then wouldn't more easy just to make contracts with companies like Foxconn or TCL?
