I love the fact that they have different opinions... at least something for everybody. The Mate is one of my best hope for a bigger battery flagship and I hope it comes with 4000mAh+ battery.. especially the global version.
I am also hoping the Pixel 2XL comes with a big battery per Google teaser. The only concern I might have with the well made V30 and Mi Mix 2 besides the 18:9AR is the battery capacity..i wish it was closer to 4000nAh or even more. Decision time on which to buy...not gonna be long now.

I would either buy a V30 or the top of the line Mate 10. I believe that those will be the best devices for me.

A expensive phone like this should support it. If they want to make the gap between the Pro and the Base only based in design plus the cut in display resolution is because they don't have anything special or valuable to add in the Pro version and make ir more desirable than the Base one. Like Apple did with the Face ID in the iPhone X. Or the pen plus desktop function in the Note 8. And I don't think that a have a lower price justify it.

If they maintain the 1080p in the base Mate 10 intead of upgrade to a QHD display it could be an epic fail. They only need to announce that in addition to cropping the screen, also cut in battery down to ~3200mAh...
