Yeah, I noticed this in the official iOS 11 features too. Very weird & confusing for the average user........

I love this feature tbh. Sometimes I'm home or at work and 15 people are on WiFi and it's unusable so I wanna disable it just while I'm at that specific location. It disconnects, and when I go someplace else, it connects to that network automatically. The 5 AM deal is so your apps auto-update on wifi before you wake up I would guess.

You need to wait for next year android flagships to get that technology and hopefully Apple will be able to keep up and get it in their Iphone X2 or at least in Iphone X3. Will be fun to see poor iUsers getting used to all downfalls of the FaceID just to get back to the good old TouchID in few years:D

It stays in the background. So it is safer to dig in to the setting menu to turn off the cellular, WiFi, BT and GPS one by one.

Anonymous, 21 Sep 2017What's the deal with 5 AM?Yeah. Whats the deal with 5AM, SO random of a timing.. why 5AM..??

If i toggle BT off, and still connected to Apple Watch, thats MY settings. WHY REVERT it at 5AM?

Maybe they will release a break through at iOS12, that changes that time to 12AM.. and call that innovation. Then the crowd clapping goes wild at WWDC 2018.

I hope that people read the new manual very well before fly in a airplane...

AnonD-514012, 21 Sep 2017So IOS airplane mode can't use on the plane coz it doesn't provide Airplane Mode, am I right?https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204234

Airplane mode turns off the wireless features on your device so that you comply with airline regulations.

Use Wi-Fi and Bluetooth in Airplane Mode:

If the airline allows it, you can use Wi-Fi and Bluetooth while in Airplane mode. You just need to turn them on separately. On your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, you can turn on Wi-Fi or Bluetooth with Control Center. You can also go to Settings > Wi-Fi or Settings > Bluetooth. To use Wi-Fi and Bluetooth on your Apple Watch, just turn off Airplane Mode.

"If you turn on Wi-Fi or Bluetooth while you're in Airplane mode, they will be on the next time you use Airplane mode, unless you turn them off while in Airplane mode."

It's clear. The airplane mode reminds if you had or not the Wi-Fi function in airplane mode just like the bluetooth, so when you activate the airplane mode again, it will put the configuration you had in the previous time and therefore you will have to turn off the wifi immediately and / or bluetooth immediately after activating this function if you left them activated the last time you used it and you are going to travel by plane. Or go to Settings and deactivate everything manually.
