Hi :), 23 Sep 2017I am just curious because you mentioned that A11 only scored higher because of the lightweight... moreYou can cheating in benchmark, just have to over clocked your chipset and it will performs better. This is marketing trick as well as samsung did but in reality very slow and lagging compared to sony xperia xz premium. For the ip rating, apple rid off the head phone jack, why can't make it to ip68 even sony and samsung can do it even though they have head phone jack. More saddest thing is battery life will be so poor because of small battery(not even reached 2000mah). Sony xperia xz1 compact had 108h in endurance rating. Why apple can't do it? Oohhh forgot because xz1 compact has 2700mah ermmmmmm

"most durable glass ever in a smartphone"
Oh, so it has true sapphire glass on the front and the back, which you can already get on some Android phones? Hardly.
Not even the glass on the camera lens is true sapphire glass, as they wrongly claim. Jerry Rigs' scratch test revealed it scratches much sooner. The display also doesn't have any more scratch resistance than your average Android smartphone.

"the new Portrait Lighting mode for pictures"
Just a cheap filter which would also work fine on older iPhones, or any Android phone. Nothing special about it.

"wireless charging"
An old hat for Android, and it only supports the slow, old standard.

"the most powerful and smartest chip"
Which is only good for ePeni$ benchmark bragging, but has no real world application (Web browsing etc).
Besides that, a more powerful chip will only suck your battery dry sooner, and since the already tiny battery has been even downsized more now, that's not a good thing.

"a better camera"
A paid review by those DxO manwh0res, who offer their a$$ to anyone who pays for it, doesn't mean anything. Let's wait for serious reviews which are not bought.

"water resistance"
Another old hat, and they still didn't manage to go to IP68. Poor.

"a new Retina HD display (although the only new thing here is the True Tone support)"
The display still has only pitiful 750p. On the Android side, such low resolutions are only found anymore on $100 dumpster phones. That's pathetic.
Still no Amoled either.

"augmented reality functionality"
Also nothing special here. There's Project Tango etc.

So basically... it has nothing ... It has improved display which is well below the curve of screen to body ratio and resolution, as can be expected the camera was improved, wireless charging is nothing new outside of crapple world as is water resistance, the most durable glass is subjective, the most powerful chipset is as well kind of expected for latest flagship phone and will be decimated by some new chip coming in few months time. So all 8 features doesn't stand out in any why from any average smartphone... poor..

AnonD-397942, 23 Sep 2017Iphone 8 has so many weaknesses but well isheep still buy it even it's worth less. Actually A1... moreI am just curious because you mentioned that A11 only scored higher because of the lightweight OS. Correct me if I'm wrong but it is the application itself that's doing the benchmarking, so no reason for the results to be affected by the weight of the OS. IP 67/8? You're not going to take out your phone in submarine depth levels are you? Even though it's not certified for salt water, I've taken both an S7 Edge and an iPhone 7+ and both seemed to be fine (I'm 5'4 tall and for about 20 - 30 mins while on the beach in the PH).

Everyone has their own preferences. STFU is the best that you can do :)
BTW, not too much of an Apple Fan. I'm currently using a J7Prime and used a Sammy (S8+, S7E, Note7), Huawei (p9) and an HTC (M7) phone as well :)

I think it is funny that you, as an android guy, say that apple users only care about design, while the most hate from android users against the iPhone 8 is "it looks the same as iPhone 7, apple is ripping off people"

If you think like that about every iPhone user, you definitely missed it with your job choice. Strange that I know more about phones then 99% of people having to work with phones as their main job...

Seeing as I work in a phone selling store I can, with all my confidence and from personal experience, say: no one really cares about the iPhone 8 since everyone heard about the iPhone X. The iPhone 8 is just a glass iPhone 7 for most iPhone users, seeing as most of them only care about the design of the phone. And as an Android user, I honestly think the iPhone X is going to be one big fat fail from Apple when it's finally released but, oh well, let's see.

I think most apple fans are now waiting for the x. Extreme apple fans could get 8 now and get the x next month.

I think apple itself can’t predict the actual demand of 8 and x. Huge number of 8 could be left unsold in stores and warehouse. Apple had made such bold and unusual move this year, the profit result 12months later is unpredictable for now. Maybe x with bring in huge profit, or 8 will bring in huge loss. Will apple lower the prices of 8 for the first time for the current generation of phone in order to clear those unsold stocks, the ongoing development will be interesting.

I just love how these US-based "media" intentionally won't pick up what apple said last year: "Apple to Introduce Major iPhone Redesign Every 3 Years"
