It does look very interesting,in pictures and in specs...so far..we`ll see about final product.
Mate 9 is still very good phone, but Huawei will surely ask $1k for new Mate 10.If they finally put some competitive audio circuitry inside, some quality Dac and some amplifier, it will be one of the best phones of 2017.So far,Huawei products wasn`t very good in audio...

Forgot to mention pixel size? Or was it intention... Kinda shame they still use dual cam and white pixels, separate rgb would made 3 times bigger pixels on sensor, even if they used 1/3".
Well NPU chipset is worthy of top flagship, lets see the rest, like audio recording quality, screen, 3D&AR abilities... mostly zoom and bokeh also :), maybe someone to dethrone iphone and its score?

Huawei is the only china brand smartphone i'll approve. I'm a long sony xperia user but after bought my wife mate 9, really a good phone. Now i'm an ex-xperia user, typing on my honor 8 pro. Never underestimate Huawei. A good overall package.

My current phone is with me for 3.5 years, it's scratched, but screen is fine. If a material is durable enough, then you won't need a case. Metal is one of those materials. Glass is not.

Anonymous, 25 Sep 20171.6 aperture ia fascinating, hope to see great pictures. LG V30 was disappointing in this matter. The aperture is only a small part of the picture: the total light received depends on f-number and sensor area, or light/pixel on f-number and pixel area. f1.6 vs f1.7 or f1.8 is a modest increase in light received, and certainly not enough to offset the smaller senor and pixels used by the V30 compared to say the Pixel or U11.

However, it's an attention-getting number that marketing people can use: "widest aperture in a smartphone", "more light" make for good slogans, and if the tech press don't compare sensor/pixel sizes and point out what the overall effect is they will get away with selling this as "better" even if the net effect is worse signal/noise than the best in class can deliver.

You will use case either way and it is not like if a metal phone drop it will survive without scratchs or even broken screen.
