Thanks a lot for all the good work you are doing!
Does GSMArena knows that there are many more gadgets in the world but this ugly ladies smartwatch?,
Look at your mane page ... apple apple apple iwatch apple iwatch apple.
I am not saying this is the case, but I know a lot of high-end watches, more expensive and better than that $300 Tissot, that have an anti-refective layer on top of saphire (and bellow), so you can scratch that layer, but no saphire, with a below 9 Mohs hardness. Some watches have anti-refective layer only under sapphire, inside watch, so it won't be externally exposed to scratch.
I don't know if sapphire crystal in that Apple watches have that layer.
I've heard that in watches have anti-refective layer on top surface you can remove it with Vitroclen and a lot of effort: the result will be a natural reflective sapphire but with its natural stronger resistance to scratch.
.alpha, 26 Sep 2017Zach/Jerry should consult an engineer and scientist before making his ignorant claim. Lab test... moreGo learn thing before speaking.
if you use a level 6 pick to scratch a material with 8 on the moh scale no matter what pressure you put its wont scratch it its will crack the screen way before.
This is like trying to cut steel using wood...
you apple lover are a joke..
Love the Community, 26 Sep 2017Zack of JRE confirmed that the Apple Sapphire is definitely sapphire (aluminum oxide) by using... moreThe reason to put saphire is to be more scratch resistant than normal gorrila glass..
if its scratch as easily then its crap.
apple makes it sound good but all its just a coating they put on the glass to reduce scratches
Regarding my first comment, when I said: "At Apple we took glass and turn it to sapphire..", they are two kinds of people in this world:
1. People who understand sarcasm and appreciate it.
2. Not so inteligent people, to put it kindly.
P.S. For all people out there not so gifted at upper levels, I will try next time to be more clear..
Love the Community, 26 Sep 2017I'll take the bait of a joke. But Apple can't just simply make sand (glass) into Aluminum Oxid... moreIt is real Sapphire though just not very good quality, but the bump in price is ridiculous. Very shameful behavior
Sonu4678, 26 Sep 2017Stupid ignorant guy trying to act smart.
-Tell me, why should that thing cost 1000$ more?
... moreI also want to know why it has Price tag of $1300????
Can u tell me.
.alpha, 26 Sep 2017Some of you guys are so dumb repeating Zack/Jerry's "pure sapphire" nonsense. There is no such... moreDon't care when iCrap fan calls me dumb, all I care is that overpriced so called sappphire should only be scratched at level 8
Like HTC U Ultra
I accept no less than that....
It's my dumb definition of sapphire glass
You iFans smartass miss the basic, expensive things should be more durable
.alpha, 26 Sep 2017Zach/Jerry should consult an engineer and scientist before making his ignorant claim. Lab test... moreActually he did. He put the sapphire under an electron microscope and found that the amount of impurities is higher than that in normal sapphire. Thats the reason it scratches at a level 6 than 8 in case of normal sapphire. He tested the same for the htc phone with sapphire screen and it also scratched at a level 8. If htc can do this why can't apple. Its a $1300 watch for god's sake. It cannot be excused. Its better to buy an iphone x and then stick it to your wrist than this overpriced watch.
.alpha, 26 Sep 2017Some of you guys are so dumb repeating Zack/Jerry's "pure sapphire" nonsense. There is no such... morethats the point. jack is showing the difference between apple made sapphire and natural sapphire.
Sonu4678, 26 Sep 2017Stupid ignorant guy trying to act smart. -Tell me, why should that thing cost 1000$ more? ... moreits like a water. it does not matter for you if it is pure or impure because it can quench your thrust. according to your point.
Apple and quality is mismatch, i mean, bendgate, antenna gate, colour chippin, the "sapphire" lens, the so called ion strengthen glass etc etc
Eske Rahn, 26 Sep 2017Is anyone REALLY surprised that the greedy sods at aPple cheats the customers by misleading m... moreTotally agree. "The Emperor's New Clothes" is exactly what Apple has become. They had some really awesome products over the years, and I fully give them credit, proper dues, and accolades for those past innovations, but now they're banking on their cult followers to believe in whatever they say is "magical", especially when it's not.
AnonD-598579, 26 Sep 2017At Apple we took glass and turn it to sapphire..I'll take the bait of a joke. But Apple can't just simply make sand (glass) into Aluminum Oxide (sapphire).
No way??? Apple getting cheap??? It is like waking up from matrix dream :) really hits hard :) apple it just a company which trying to make billions for offering same **** as anyone else, why would you buy their products? I am still asking this question all the time
.alpha, 26 Sep 2017Some of you guys are so dumb repeating Zack/Jerry's "pure sapphire" nonsense. There is no such... moreStupid ignorant guy trying to act smart.
-Tell me, why should that thing cost 1000$ more?
-No one gives a F about how impure/pure Sapphire they are using. It should provide excellent protection for the price they are charging.
-Go and cut Metal with wood using force, i'll see how you can do that.
.alpha, 26 Sep 2017Some of you guys are so dumb repeating Zack/Jerry's "pure sapphire" nonsense. There is no such... morethe question here is why the so called sapphire used by Apple costs a lot more than so called Gorilla glass and not providing better protection than that glass, is kind of misleading, why someone have to pay a lot more for the sole word itself?Well the commercials may sound weird-look we use a sapphire is hardest and meanest and you have to rob a bank to afford it,but still you get the same level of protection so not expect more
Sounds like some brain-dead executive wanted to have the name sapphire but failed to realize that watch grade sapphire is much better at scratch protection than cheap sapphire.
