Some of you guys are so dumb repeating Zack/Jerry's "pure sapphire" nonsense. There is no such thing as pure sapphire, even natural jewelry sapphire aren't "pure" which is what give its color.

Apple made the synthetic sapphire according to the need of the Apple Watch which includes shatter resistant, transparency and anti-reflectiveness, something the sapphire on Tissot cannot do.

Zack/Jerry is a business major and his job experience is retailing phone. If you learning engineering and chemical science from someone like that, you need to get your head checked.

AnonD-598579, 26 Sep 2017At Apple we took glass and turn it to sapphire..yes, like Jesus Christ turn water into wine and so on...

      - oh yeah, Aiple is the new Jesus Christ i forgot that.

But for what i learn from the religion is that they dont charge you a lot to belive in miracles, but apple do charge a lot...and anyway have their follower's. BTCOH

Zach/Jerry should consult an engineer and scientist before making his ignorant claim. Lab test isn't a guy using a tool he doesn't understand scratching at a surface with undetermined force.

What's the point of having "Sapphire" if it scratches just as easily as Gorilla Glass!?
They are charging 1000$ extra for it for god's sake. I hope this brand just disappear someday.

Zack (the YouTuber states that apple is indeed using sapphire but still scratches at level 6 which is the same as gorilla glass 5. Pure crystals (that's used on the tissot watch and on htc u11 sapphire edition) should scratch at level 8 and above. The way I see it, Apple is charging way too high for an unnecessary material

It's just not as high quality as his Tissot watch and HTC U Ultra Sapphire. If people think that the scratch is just the oleophobic coating, he heated the watch screen and the scratch marks (especially 6 and 7) are still there.

Is anyone REALLY surprised that the greedy sods at aPple cheats the customers by misleading marketing?

I hope that scandal made Apple reduce the price of their most expensive version drastically and Sapphire and Ceramic aren't that expensive to begin with.
