Sony as a whole company is not all about phones. People here are criticizing Sony like "they are ruined, everything is over for Sony, etc." Consumers all over the world became instant and shallow. A phone CANNOT replace good camera. A phone CANNOT replace good portable audio player. People are getting lazy ,and because of that they justify decisions to buy ALL IN ONE. For 800 or 1000$ ( price of a flagship ) you can buy a good phone and VERY good camera. But nooooo you are lazy to carry a camera with you. Instead of getting used to a better quality pictures and video (because cameras are pretty amazing these days, with optics that simply outperforms ANY phone) we are getting used to lower quality , just because it is easier to carry only one device. And therefore, Sony can survive without phones, because it's only about 5 percent of their business. In all of the following categories, Sony is either first in world in quality or sales , or among first three.
- PlayStation
- Bravia TV
- Columbia, Tristar, etc. -movie industry
- Sony BMG music industry
- Photo sensors
- DSLR ,SLT cameras and camcorders, Alpha brand.
- Professional photo and video equipment for TV and movie production
- Audio department ( headphones, Bluetooth speakers, hi fi equipment, home cinema...)
and many more....

I'm still using my Xperia T that I bought on it's day of release. I've not bought another phone to replace it for two reasons... First and foremost, you must provide a t9 keyboard. I simply cannot use a qwerty one. I'm not saying install only the t9 version, just that there is an option in the settings, exactly like my Xperia T, and the predictive text that goes with it. It's so important to me, that if the phone doesn't have a t9 keyboard, I won't buy it. Hence, why I'm still using my beloved T. Also, can you allow users to vary the size of the keyboard too please?
For those of you that suggest downloading one from the app store, I'm not prepared to do that for security reasons. .
The second reason is the huge size of those bezels! The spec of your XZ Premium really appeals to me, especially the luminous chrome colour, but boy those bezels take up a huge chunk of the body!

Sony, a company that nobody appreciates their mobile phones products except sony itself. 1) Audio Department - It took several mobile phone generations before they realized that they have the poorest sound quality and very minute sound. Sony is one of the most pioneering in the audio industry but it seemed that they are not implementing it to their mobile phones. As compared to the amateur huawei or HTC etc., they have the best sound quality and loudness that people surely appreciate. Well, not until Xperia XZ1 was produced. This phone seemed to have louder stereo speakers but still not comparable to other phones having loud/stereo speakers. 2) Display Department - I cannot understand why sony used the unpopular sRGB LED display panels with a WHITE LED FILTER. Display color is dull, washed-out/faded and it looks like an old photos or videos. Sony claimed it to be SHARP DISPLAY. Oh!!! come on sony, what engineers you have? See how brilliant and punchy display in Samsung phones..... - while the other phone manufacturers profited much on their large sales, sony on the other hand struggles as their phones almost nobody wants to buy them. Go to the department stores and just look at their display on their shelves. You seldom see Sony products. 3) Hardware Department - Always use the outdated old school technology (Bulky, chunky large bezels, few sensors etc.... ) while others were almost in the 2nd generation of bezeless OLED 18.5:9 aspect ratio display panels. Correct me if i am wrong, Sony Corporation is in joint venture with JDI and Panasonic Corporation and executed a definitive agreement to establish a new company, JOLED Inc. (“JOLED”), to integrate Sony and Panasonic's R&D functions for organic light-emitting diode (“OLED”) display panels. But where is Sony nowadays? ..... The STRUGGLING sony still fight for her life in the mobile industry claiming that they have the best, like 4k HDR display etc..., but there is no benefit at all except if you use for 4k movies. The fact is, nobody appreciated their technology except sony itself. - Sony already have the bezeless 18. 5:9 aspect ratio for almost in the last 3 years, but sad to say its just CONCEPTS (lot of them in youtube), but in reality its NOTHING to convince their customer. They might be having it as when that technology is outdated in the market. One thing I noticed is that they are in the failing stage and about to close the company and no more financial capability to finance the company. And cannot hire competitive engineers to design their products. You can't even buy any accessory in most cellphone vendors. If u ask them why? they simply answer you SONY IS A PROBLEM. Well, except if you do by online purchase which is too inconvenient.

Actually I'm using an iphone 6 today, after experiencing a very laggy xperia sp model last 2014. But today I see a good software support and great hardware in xperia. Im planning on purchasing my phone by next year, and I want it to be sony. They need to change their design to be competitive in the market. They need to join the bzell less trend, because they need profit. I hope to be a Sony Xperia user again next year! 👌🏼

I seriously hope they do not go full bezel-less. They need to leave some room for the speakers and somewhere to place your thumbs when holding the phone landscape. I wouldn't mind an Xperia with curved edges, an OLED screen (Sony was pioneer on this tech and they didn't push its use hard enough) and slimmer bezels among the other bells and whistles. They need to keep catering to the people that want to buy a Sony and winning converts from other brands, not imitate what everyone else is doing.
I had to replace my Xperia Z3 Compact with an Xperia XA1, but I'm waiting for the XZ1 Compact to drop in price later in the year... or maybe with whatever the new thing that replaces the Omnibalance design, as long as it's in compact form.

I dislike everything about Samsung, their logo, the bezel-less design, 12MP camera and that UI touchwiz bloatware crap, and all Samsung fans does is criticize Sony's bezel design. This might convince me to buy Xperia XZ1 since it's the last flagship phone to have bezels.
