pretty sure this is on the ancient 28nm process. Currently I have the Lenovo p1m (Got for dad and sis) with mediatek 6735 at 1GHz and both their phones are laggy as hell. Time to change mediatek, your phones in the low end suck big time.

First 14nm entry is exynos chip on j3 2017 4core 1.4.
Well, it's just an entry-level SoC, so naturally there's not so much to say. But let's say that it's a new chip (pros&cons) and so welcome too.
Obviously not a preferred SoC but when your phone takes a crap and you need a hold-me-over, this will make for a better $50-$75 phone than the mt6735, once it gets cheap enough to make... It'll probably be as fast as the sd425 which is about the minimum amount of power it takes to run a smartphone... Still waiting for the 1st actual entry level SoC to not use 28nm (sd450 not withstanding)
Stop Mediatek. Why not ARM A35 at 2.0 Ghz on GloFo 22nm process?
The Power VR GPU is decent. But... Why not use it on the Helio P series?
I will never buy any Mediatek phone again. Any Snapdragon CPU with same GHZ speed will work much better.
This should not be in smartphones more expensive than $ 100 or even $60
What with A53 cores on cheap chipsets? Why not use A72 or something. How much more expensive would be the different? How much harder is it to be manufactured? Why even bother with this low end chipset? Sure, you get a beautiful bezel less 18:9 phone from the looks but performed like crap.
Beggers chipset, my phone from 2013 has faster chipset when this
Anonymous, 27 Sep 2017Just say no to Mediatek. It's people like you who needs to grow up... Not everyone is after a high-spec disposable expensive products...
for god's sake not yet another Cortex-A53 SoC!
Why are we still using these 2012 CPU's? One smartphone is artificially rendered obsolete while the new kid on the block is in reality the exact same thing. Sure the old model was 1300MHz and this one is 1500MHz, no big deal. Just update the older Cortex-A53-phones to newer OS's and stop flooding the world with inferior cheap crap.
Consumers should just stop buying into this crap.
I mean people have been complaining at Nokia and Microsoft about recycling old crap and not being innovative enough while phone-SoC manufacturers are even worse! FU Mediatek... I don't want this, so keep that crap in China.

Anonymous, 27 Sep 2017Just say no to Mediatek.come on..most chinese cheap phone with good specs come with mediatek..
funkboy, 27 Sep 2017Please tell me this isn't on the old 28nm process again....Probably.. good news we will see new p23 in phones in couple months. It has better battery than p25 but gpu unknown g71mp2 only 55 gflops?
Anonymous, 27 Sep 2017Just say no to Mediatek.it's cheap ... i don't know why ... only because made of china / taiwan or not from US
or maybe for source for custom rom ... i don't think mediatek be secure as much much other
