Kiyasariin, 29 Sep 2017Frankly though... NVME IS REALLY slow... if it was used on something along the lines of UFS 2.... moreYou're joking, right? NVMe is considered one of the fastest storage options today. It's storage with direct access to the system bus. The reason Samsung's storage is faster is simply because it's a custom improvement they made to that. They're able to do that as they have the advantage of being a manufacturer of every component level, from the processor to the storage.

Super Presh, 29 Sep 2017Why would anyone imagine that? What stops Apple from sticking in 10 cores or even 20 cores in ... moreCore count had nothing to do with it. Its completely different cores, the big ones in A11 is so much more powerful than those in Snapdragon.

A11 is getting beaten by A10. That tell us something is wrong.

What's going on? Why is Geekbench saying the iPhone is twice as fast as the Galaxy when we've just witnessed the Galaxy being the faster? Hmm. Is this a case like dieselgate?

Anonymous, 29 Sep 2017Imagine how the Note 8 would be on a 6-core CPU and 3GB RAM. LOL. It would be a no match for iPhonesWhy would anyone imagine that? What stops Apple from sticking in 10 cores or even 20 cores in their own device? You guys claimed before that iPhones with even 2 cores could beat the shìt out any Android phone, now some people are looking for excuses.

Anonymous, 29 Sep 2017Nice.. Note 8 my choice. Can do everything last longer. Apple you must learn more from Samsung... moreLearn more from Samsung ,please, we're copying as fast as we can. We're struggling here, the new Samsung amoled that we are trying to put in our next phone, is so good we don't know how to work with such high tech, its holding up release of the phone till we get it right, yes we bought a lesser model than Samsungs best, for cheapness, but wow imagine if we could have bought Samsungs best, like the Note 8 screen, we might not even have worked out how to implement it.

I am always skeptical of these "speed tests" for the simple fact that many seems to vary the apps used in different tests. Adding and removing apps is an easy way to manipulate the final results depending on the narrative you want to portray. Another is the game loading. We do not know whether or not Apple version is loading the same sized texture due to the lower resolution. That would significantly affect load times as well. Then again, these speed tests aren't that particularly useful in the real world. They're better off listing a bunch of app load times for all the popular apps, and let users see how their most used apps compare.

If you think about how the A11 works, it definitely doesn't use all 6 cores at once but it did in those synthetic benchmarks. Maybe the 4 lower powered efficiency cores are being used more than the two high powered cores. This would be one reason why the iPhone 7 seems to perform faster than the iPhone 8 as well since it uses it's high powered cores for most of everything. The snapdragon 835 is a assymetric Big.Little processor that uses all eight cores all the time at different speeds of course so it can continue doing more work than the A11.

The battery life ratio on the S8 vs IPhone 8 is 2 to 1.
                                    Keep that in mind.
By the time the IPhone 8 reaches 0%, the battery on the S8 is only 50% depleted. I don't know about you, but i think Sammy should be praised for this one and I'm not a fan.
And if you root the phone and strip the system apps to the bare bone you'll have a very lasting phone.
If you make me choose between sammy pay and rooting the phone, I'll choose to root it without blinking.
