Unless he has the hands of Donkey Kongs bezels are not practical, the end.
Now if he likes the design it's his right ... I don't care. I only commented on the practicality aspect...
SZtadir, 01 Oct 2017Rounded corners are not that great in my view. Whenever I see the pictures of Note 8 and Note ... moreIt is actually deemed impractical for bezel less phone with rectangular screen. The rounded corner is a must for comfort and protective purposes. Example, you may refer to Sharp Aquos Crystal design. The first bezel less smartphone. It has a very sharp 90 degree vertex corner at the top. Holding that part will be very uncomfortable. Imagine if you were to drop it. The part that hits the ground will be the corner and that is also where the bezel less display starts. So, it will break both the corner, the glass along with the display.
Thus, rounded corner is needed to reduce impact. You can refer to Mi Mix attempt at following Sharp design. Xiaomi made their Mi Mix corners rounded. Since then even Sharp start putting rounded corners for their latest Aquos S2 but only the top where the impact is most regarded. Their bottom corners remain rectangular and not rounded because it still have bezel there. And so many follows this principle as has been stated by LG based on their G6 design.
AnonD-402029, 01 Oct 2017its normal in gsmarena, ppl here like to bash other ppl peaceful opinion lol. whats trending ... moreGuess I'm late to the trend huh? I'm still in the era where people discuss in the comment, not the era where fanboy rules..
Simon, 01 Oct 2017Did you guys read the option you gave us and comments correctly? People said rounded corners A... moreExactly Simon, exactly! At least that's what I thought that option meant. This article totally threw me.
You know what..
Should be rounded corners at the top
and rectangular corners at the bottom
Caters for all
Just turn the phone upside down if you're not happy
I have an altar with every iPhone since the first one till iPhone 7 Plus. I lit every candle on the altar, looked at Steve Job's photo which is placed in the middle. Said a prayer. I then turned around and placed a vote for the iPhone X. I knew we were going to lose. We're up against a botnet army powered by Android One.
I would rather have gigantic bezels than screen which is not a perfect rectangle
Anonymous, 01 Oct 2017Lol... It's his opinion, deal with it.. its normal in gsmarena, ppl here like to bash other ppl peaceful opinion lol.
whats trending here:
1) ppl like to compare number
2) compare the price
3) the brand
but they dont know whats important is whether u like the product or not. if your decision isnt the same as theirs, you will get bashed lol. so sad.
Rounded corners look neat, but it's till better to get that effect through software on a rectangular screen imo.

Rounded corners but put Apple picture as cover.. Smh
AnonD-70078, 01 Oct 2017Oh I most be getting old. But like the bezels. Specially on iPhone They are not practical. Make the phone unpracticably big. Iphone plus is the least practical phone I have ever handled, I don't know why people are buying it , I guess it's the apple logo.
iPhone X achieves iphone plus screen size on a much more practical device size. It's pocketable and more usable one handed.
It's not perfect (I'd much prefered if there was no cutout and the sensors were below the screen, only to have it temporarily dim so that they may work underneath the glass), but it's faaaar better than having useless bezels on top and bottom that mostly serve to make the phone bigger and harder to handle...
I don't like this new useless fad concerning screens. Give me a proper 16:9 aspect ratio with a flat screen pls. Everything else is just wasting screen real estate. Edge screens get distorted images, colours and glare, while the new aspect ratio gets big black bars.
Also, Samsung bring back those capacitative keys. I don't want stuff taking up my screen, or when I'm watching a video and want to go back to the home screen I don't want to have to swipe to bring up the home button. Also bring back removable batteries, ir blaster, plastic backs....
Anonymous, 01 Oct 2017Spotted the new guy (or delusional). If you've been on this site even a little, you know the ... moreHuh, Apple with great bezelless body ratio ??? Sorry but the Mi Mix started first followed by the LG G6 and the Samsung Galaxy S8. Thinking that the notch or rounded corners display are great???? Well both are simply underwhelming even if the commercial is successful.
AnonD-70078, 01 Oct 2017Oh I most be getting old. But like the bezels. Specially on iPhone I guess you really like having space wasted on a display. For the same size as a 5s, you could've fitted a 4.3" screen if they made the top and bottom bezels a bit smaller and the side bezels a bit narrower. They could've even fit a 4.6" screen if they made the phone a bit wider while keeping the same height.
A lot of people dont like so much rounded corners as much as apple phones usually have. They buy them despite them not because of them. Because of its brand image and also because apple flagship phones usually last longer than other non-removable battery phones (which helps in higher resale value for them.)
Regarding screen cut out....i think it is okay (although not superb. They could not have been able to pack cameras there without a screen cutout) but i wish it was a bit horizontally shorter (left to right).
