More uneducated comments. Did you know that AT&T was the only phone company in America for quite some time? I guess you did not know that "Bell", was part of AT&T until the government forced AT&T to split off from them. Funny enough this happened two times in history. First with Pacific Bell, which branched off into different "Bell" companies West of the Mississippi. Then more recently with Bell Atlantic, which became Verizon. Even Rogers emerged from AT&T. So enough with this defeatist BS on how AT&T is killing competition and what not. Lame......
At&t is the worst customer friendly company, i ever know. this will not be better for T.mobile customers . i switched to at&t with my friend some years ago. under six months with them they billed me for minutes that i dont use. even said i called my home number when am at work with no nobody at home etc. i had to switched back to T.mobile .
That's the worst thing that could happen to all T-Mobile cuustomers. NO to that MERGER. T-Mobile has been great, while my experience with AT&T has always been bad. That merger would leave no choice to customers that like and prefer GSM technology (people who travel abroad frequently).
Dear T-Mobile customers, Say buh-bye to top-flight customer service. Say sayonara to reasonable pricing.
Dear Deutsche Telekom, please make a hostile bid to take over AT&T for T-Mobile instead. Danke
Cave Johnson, 07 Jun 2011Let me tell you something about this merger. It's one of AT&T's greatest and most prideful... more"The stupid, it hurts!" Grabbing and _using_ freqs held by T-mobile is what makes the deal worthwhile.
But generally, seems it was only a mater of time before Bell coalesced again, like T1000...
If ATT&TM merge I will move to Verizon or prepaid card and last option will be walmart plan.Currently I have 4 lines with ATT as soon as my contract end I will moving toward prepaid phone, that will eliminate ATT from getting my money any further. Prepaid phone used only necessory on the road. I will be using my home phone which is $3.50 amonth unlimited call nation wild. Why not.
Bad service, bad support, BAD SIGNAL, duh!!!
I stay away from AT&T I prefeer VERIZON 1000's times over AT&T, too bad for all :(
ATT is purely driven by GREED. Ignore their promise for customer service and product improvement bla-bla-bla. They have the absolute worst customer support for both land and cell lines. Pls read the article "What's wrong with Customer Service?" in Consumer Reports mag July 2011 page 17. It took 6 hours for one man to cancel his ATT service.
Broken apart some years back for monopoly related issues, they are now back as 1,000 snakes joined together as one head, with such deep buckets that they can buy any and all politicians on the hill.
ATT and TMo use CDMA technology while Sprint and Verizon use CDMA. Taking TMo out of the equation would leave ATT as the sole GSM provider. Is that not considered a monopoly? And how ATT's exclusive engagement with Apple to sell the iPhone which turned out to be a nightmare for so many customers in term of service. Shouldn't that be considered as a monopoly as well?
All I can smell is upcoming DISASTER and customer EXPLOITATION.
All consumer groups should join forces to block this from happening!!!
all i see is a whole bunch of QQers .. let me tell u all something. If t-mobile is as good as u say then why is the ceo of t-mobile is selling his company... and why are they losing customer... meaning they are losing money.. and if u your a QQers because u dont accept the fact that at&t have that much money to buy t-mobile n take over gsm then ur just a self-fish person who only care about your opinion. Plus if you hate it that bad just change ur carrier and go to verizon or sprint... no hard feelings and no pain.. wats so hard about that huh ... no need to make a big QQ .. grow up people technology is changing as well as company is... its all about the blang blang... either you have it all or lose it all. N Me for one will choose to Have it ALL .. if u cant.. then LOSE IT ALL
The only downside I see is a monopoly. I wouldn't mind having a phone capable of using every gsm frequency. may lead to a more reliable network for At&t customers. Might be a good thing
If that happened, it will be the end of my relation with GSM phones. AT&T is going to make things worst for every t-mobile customer. It has to be some way to vote against the merge. Damn it.
Lies, lies, lies, from at&t they just want to removed competition they know t-mobile is the best and they know no matter how hard they try they will never be like tmobile thats why they want to kill it.
Let me tell you something about this merger. It's one of AT&T's greatest and most prideful techniques that they have ever devise. 1) Change all the T-mobile towers to their frequency. 2) Rip-off T-mobile costumers that their carrier phones don't work on their frequency due to them changing it. 3) Make T-mobile costumers pay extra for service they were already getting while buying another phone that works on AT&T's frequency. IT'S FOOL-PROOF I TELL YOU!!! No one will ever see it coming.
Raj, 07 Jun 2011The truth is this was inevitable. I was teliing people years ago that this will most likely ha... moreyou sir are wrong! haha, the g2x does not support AT&Ts network.
do some research!
and if this two company successfully merged together, expect less phones with higher prices..
I am and have been unhappy with this acquisition from the get go. Why would a T-Mobile customer for almost 8 years now, as I have been, want to be with AT&T? It will be a sad day if this deal (say definite higher prices and bad customer service) is approved.
This doesn't help,
1) Both AT&T and T-Mobile should start introducing phones compatible with each others 3G network
2) The pricing on AT&T is a lot higher compared to T-Mobile, they need to slash the rates.
Once the above 2 are done, I may feel a little better, but that will probably be never..
If that happens I will switch to Sprint as soon as my contract ends. If I wanted AT&T service I would have signed up with them not T-Mobile.
I went to a mobile conference in April and at that time they were announcing this deal. At that point and ever since I didnt see even 1 person that agreed or found any benefit on this merging. I hope FCC sees that, otherwise I will think that USA is just like any other corrupt country in the Americas... I work with carriers like AT&T from all the continents and I know what happens there. Let's see...
