Well this concept is way overblown by Huawei, you simply can't put neuron processing in such a tiny chipsets, machine learning requires massive computational power which only can be done by dedicated servers. This just marketing hype, what chipset would be able to do must be similar to Siri or Google assistant capabilities, collected data will be just transferred to servers, which is definitely not done by chipset itself as claimed, very chip advertising Huawei!

I had a good laugh watching the teaser from Huawei. AI is in beta state and will remain that way for sometime. Cause more or less, it will respond to only specific commands and we all know, machines can only perform specific stuff for which they are programmed for. AI is pretty complex technology, as it will require interaction with human intelligence. I don't expect it to be without flaws but with continuous development, it can certainly work almost flawlessly. The Kirin 970 has an integrated Neural Processing Unit (NPU) AI accelerator chip and will come with a software API to interact with the platform (which might make use of a form of machine learning known as deep learning). I just hope the AI Software can operate locally rather than as a cloud application. This is certainly an interesting smartphone, ah not a smartphone.. From Huawei. :p

Now this... whenever a release lacks any good content, marketing comes up with some ludicrous bs like this AI nonsense.

My worry will be this thing can be a magnet for spying ..
Basically no privacy...
Lets see as the chinese are making some huge advances and soon we hope they will price out apple of people's hands once they have the technologies and wont sell cheap to apple anymore..

Exactly my thoughts. Only idiots, or fanboys of other phones who are jealous or paid personnel which did happen with samsung paying people to tarnish HTC name some years back on blogs, would say such a thing.
Shut your traps and enjoy technology.
