Anonymous, 30 Sep 2017IPhone 8 is for high class people and Nokia 8 is for higher middle class people. I don't think... moreThe OnePlus 5, like the Google Pixel is an Android version of the iPhone with the OP5 being the less expensive
The Nokia 8 will cut into the above 2 phones as it offers memory expansion (256Gb) and posted benchmark just below the OP5
There a nearly 7 billion people on the planet so the only way to sell iPhone is having your customer Base buying a new phone every year
There are too many sellers , Samsung Xiaomi, Huawei, etc all selling phones for less how long Apple can sell 100 million phones is limited.
I don't know how good this offer is or how it compares to Apple annual upgrade which includes a cost to be on, but you will not be on the lowest tariff
The phone I buy has never been the upgrade phone TWO years later
NoOne, 01 Oct 2017And further more which they have not mentioned on thier website clearly but is mentioned on am... moreHow disturbing. I already figured there would be a catch, but this...
So to get the 70% back, you have to buy the new crapple phone after a year. Even then, you'll only get a voucher, no money, to make sue the money stays in their hands.
What's more: The phone will be evaluated by store staff upon return. Sounds like, if you don't treat it like a raw egg and return it in mint condition, they'll probably flat out refuse taking it back.
This is beyond fishy already.

AnonD-305089, 01 Oct 2017That's similar to how the U.S contract system works, with the exception that they're basically... moreAnd further more which they have not mentioned on thier website clearly but is mentioned on amazon.in :
Reliance would provide redeemable vouchers worth the cashback, not real money. So even the 70% cash back again goes back to reliance next year.
Here is the term from Amazon (check last line):
7. How can the customers avail the Offer?
A customer needs to follow the process as detailed below to avail the Offer: -
(i) visit any Reliance store during the Assured Buyback Period,
(ii) return the Product to the store personnel, and
(iii) Return the original accessories provided with the Product and the original box.
Subsequent to taking the aforementioned steps, the store personnel will: - evaluate the Product accessories and the Product box, and issue redeemable vouchers to the customer.

So after 2 years, you own the phone. In Jio's case, you're selling your soul to Reliance.

AnonD-305089, 01 Oct 2017What's the catch?Contract bound and must make newer purchase to upgrade within 12 months to newer apple launch from Jio.

It seems that GSM readers still think the iPhones some kind of status symbol! As someone who has owned iPhones for a number of years, trust me, no one cares that I own an iPhone. Except for perhaps GSM readers! The content section on this website has become like the kiddies play area in a large department store. Except I think your parents went home and left you all here!
