With apple you get stable, optimized and bug free experience. Which is not there in android or windows.

Checking the veracity of the statements in this article:-
1) True statement: "iTunes is an even bigger pile of trash than what we already thought it was"
2) False statement: "iTunes backup is a magical thing"

I still doubt this experience will make Mr. P (article writer) confront the failings of Apple and it's iPhone. After all, he is the same person who justified Apple's removal of the very useful 3.5 mm headphone jack by stating "most people don't care about the headphone jack anyway". Here's the link:

iTunes is the worst app ever. It's slow, large and gives errors without a clue for us to resolve.

"The problem is here that iTunes is an even bigger pile of trash than what we already thought it was." Nice one Gsmarena :) it was one of the big reason why I drop iphones, iTunes should be canned long time ago, does nothing just complicate things, you can't do any file transfers without it, I mean my friends who has iPhones never connects it to pc and tries to do everything wirelessly because they afraid of iTunes :D if it is Appple plan to push people to use their wireless services, this might actually work :)
