Dick, 04 Oct 2017Axon7You obviously didn't read my comment correctly
I said with "very small bezels"
I thought the XL was meant to be bezel free? Are you sure this isn't the normal Pixel

Got a Google Home earlier this year, found out that I barely used it. It was just gaining dust :P
But it is always good to see competition!
I really like it. Great job google! Haters gonna hate.
Remember the Samsung Galaxy Nexus with a white back and black front? I always wanted that version but it wasn't available in the US. This is reminiscent of the color scheme. A call-back to 1970's two-tone designs. I think it looks good. I'm favoring the "panda" version in particular. So... This or the V30? I'm torn between the two.

However the bad things with this Google Pixel XL 2 are:
- Overpriced to iPhone-levels
- Timing (it comes around 8 months after its QSD 835 peers)
- Bad update support (not as good as iPhone, or even Nexus devices, better than most OEMs)
- Worse ingress protection (none, or maybe low-IP67 compared to high-IP68 rivals)
- Lack of headphone jack, removable battery, microSD, and dual-SIM slot
- Bezels (its got a huge top and bottom bezels, deceiving under the weird 19:9 aspect ratio)
- Design (this one is subjective, so I won't put much weight into it)
- Small battery* (
Small bezels, stereo speakers, stock Android and average design.
Why are y'all crying about this?
Name me one phone with dual FRONT facing speakers with very small bezels........ I'll wait

Where the monstrous bezel? The black navigation button at the bottom is on-screen button, not bezel. The side bezel is slimmer than it look. It look thick from the side because that is a 2.5D glass. Also, the display is made by LG, the same one used in LG V30 with rounded corners which you said are better. Hey, for a dual front speaker and latest android version, stock android users gladly pay $700-800 for it. Those two things are uncommon.
It has a sim card tray!! Hooray

At this point one would wish the rumored Ultra Pixel phone that turned out to be a hoax was true. I really want the Pxel 2XL to be soo good that it will makes my buying choice easier but i'm kind of in doubt. I will see if i get sold on the regular Mate 10 with its huge battery and 16:9AR 6'' screen. Unless i am blown away by the P2XL tmr Oct 4th.
Ridiculous bezels for the last flagship phone in 2017.
Also doens’t look special at all. No word on being on T-Mobile (Jump on Demand) either.
Google I’m trying to give you my money but you’re making it hard.

As you may already know, the Pixel 2 is still significantly smaller than the Pixel 2 XL. The S8 is similar in size to the Pixel 2, but also runs proprietary firmware that not everyone likes.
Given these points, you can now see why someone would spend $700 on a Pixel 2 and not other flagships.
I seriously don't get the point why anyone would buy the Pixel 2 (not XL) as of now when you have so many better choices like s8, lg v30 at the same or lower price. The so outdated design and those monstrous bezels, in fact the Pixel XL 2 has those huge side bezels. Just for the sake of getting latest Android updates, why to waste 700-800 bucks literally???
