After reading DoXMark report.. those score are based on the feature provide with the phone.. not 100% based on quality of image or video.. No wonder Iphone 8/8+ got higher score but gsmarena rate slightly above 4 star @ 4.75

If you want a good camera just get a samsung(I would even advice Nokia, huawei and Sony but their phones are inconsistent) and avoid a Motorola.

Sony holds themselves back in processing and refuses to add OIS to EIS and sticks to less bright apertures.
LG jumped to F1.6 and offers the best manual control extras around. But used a very low budget small sensor that thrives off of and direly needs the F1.6 rather than them complimenting each other. Bright aperture and even heavier processing are it's saving graces.
Sony would stop playing around or LG used a true flagship grade sensor and maybe results could have been different.
The main idea of what you said still stands though.
Anonymous, 04 Oct 2017It means Samsung payed the same amount of money to DxOMark as Apple.No. Samsung has superior camera tech and results speak for themselves
I used to trust DXO. Now that I see they rank phones with some arbitrary rating system and the increasing disconnect of the ratings from the actual photo samples they show plus the brand rotation of topnotcher phones - samsung, apple, google repeat cycle makes it not worthy of serious consideration.
How predictable. DXO's next topnotcher would be the Pixel XL2 then iphone X, then S9, then repeat cycle. Sorry Huawei, LG, Sony, Oneplus, Xiaomi, Oppo, Vivo, etc. You better increase your sponsorship budget for you to ever garner the top 3 spots.
Anonymous, 04 Oct 2017So where do you get reviews then? It's better to watch camera reviews on Youtube or even GSMArena's own review is good. Don't trust in DxOMark ever. You can watch Juan Bagnell's camera review on Youtube. Decide for yourself which is better by watching different camera reviews.
PS - DxOMark gave highest rating to HTC 10 which was the most inferior among other flagships. This is just one example.
Now both have made this DXO ratings a joke in their second anniversary!
(After started with Pixel) what a rapid slip
It means Samsung payed the same amount of money to DxOMark as Apple.

[deleted post]Yes looks like video processing is a bit off. I would hope and imagine they are working on an update. Probably partially something to do with dual camera as well. But not e solely.
Even S8 scored better in many parts of video.
coj, 04 Oct 2017...unfortunately, both these phones still TOPPLED BY LUMIA 950XL (still imaging wise... its a ... moreTrue to that! Non of these flagships comes near Lumia 950/950xl camera prowess and even in years to come!
