I'm aware of the joke and probably Apple is aware of that too. If ever Apple makes a iPhone 5S with a X screen, they should name it iPhone TE (Third Edition). It's illogical to make a Second Edition of a Second Edition. Well, that's what the SE stands for.

Even Chinese brands are making prettier boxes, look at Ulefone Paris or Meizu Pro5.
Such an important milestone as the iphoneX pretends to be, they should've done something more special, unique. Looks like a Moto G box lol
Steve Jobs understood that things make a difference in these small details. He loved writing, calligraphy. How about doing something nice using beautiful text in that box Apple, seems iPhone was presented in Steve Jobs Theater and everyone was remembering him? No?...fail

I think only the iPhone 5s/SE and original 2G are the only iPhone designs I ever cared for. Many praises the iPhone 4/4s but it was too influential to offer glass backs. I prefer metal backs. The problem with the slate iPhone 5 was scuffgate which was corrected with space gray. I like the matte black 7 but the color underneath is silver and can chip off. That is why I am selling my titan V20 once my silver G5 arrives. Matte black shows oils way too easy.

I prefer black fronts, so I never cared for the silver, gold, and rose gold SE. The X is an extremely mediocre design. It's no better than what Samsung has put out the last 2.5 years. 130M will be sold of the X because it's the first redesign in three years and first redesign of the front ever.
Apple nailed it right with iOS6 or prior and iPhone 5s. Since the ugly 6, it has been downhill. The 8 looks better than the 6/6s and 7 but holding glass when I prefer no cases gets sticky. Shame the successor to the SE will get glass back too. For iPhone 4/4s fans, they will be happy.

130M is expected to be sold of the iPhone X in two years. That's Motorola RAZR territory. Everyone and your dog will own one. Reminds me of the RAZR which originally sold for $400 as a fashion phone by late-2004. Then once sold for free or $50 with contract, everyone by 2005-2006 started having one.
Let the guinea pig buyers get excited getting it because they are either going to scalp it or try to look cool for only three months. Once time passes, they will look back wasting their money getting an iPhone X full price and mostly with bugs that everyone will have eventually.
There is a chance Apple won't upgrade the X next year at all and just introduce the 6.4" variant. 130M sold is insane. And people are saying iPhone Xpensive? Everyone will own what you want in a month. Think different, right?
