I need to argue, 10 Jun 2011Am not going to argue withy you because you are a apple fan boy or you work for them. The fact... moreYou may wish to look at Stuntman's response... he said pretty much exactly what I was about to. Truth here is not that the government would have to intervene to control pricing so there was a need for competition. Don't forget - all these Windows PC companies are STILL competing against each other. And since Apple doesn't sell its OS they really only have the option of Windows or Linux. So price gouging has nothing to do with it. There still would be competitive pricing. As for Apple not being in industry - that is correct in some ways. Linux is big in business. And the Mac has been popping up in recent years in Science, but has always been prevalent in music and movies and even in the medical field.... not to mention their strong presence in education! As for Microsoft... don't be fooled into believing the "Messiah riding in on a White Horse saves Apple" propaganda. Apple gave MS some opportunities back in the 80s on the Mac. Windows arrives and lots of people were saying "hey that looks a lot like the Mac UI". Get the picture? I don't work for Apple, nor do I have an iPhone. But I do own several well working Apple products. People can hate Apple all they want... but to rewrite history does nothing but hide the truth about where these companies are today. Heck - Apple doesn't hide the fact that their inspiration for the Mac OS came from Xerox. I just don't see why in an article about an HTC phone issue people have to begin slamming other companies. I think I saw not only Apple, but Samsung and Nokia get a few hits. Ridiculous. And I wish the posting rules were followed on here or certain posts would never be seen.

HTC listened and made changes when it came to locked bootloader. The company is obviously willing to admit mistakes and fix them.
However, since the iPhone 4 debacle, I've tried covering the antenna area of two of my phones and I saw the bars drop.
What's more, there are a number of videos with the Sensation streaming whilst being held in landscape mode.
No phone is perfect. If you hold nearly any phone over the antenna, service will drop or be diminished.
The iPhone recovered from this nonsense and so will the Sensation. ...Makes for controversial media, though, gsmarena
So what now?I already have the phone but not affected badly by this issue but after the second video this is seriously bugging me already.I mean heck i cant even hold it flat or even pass it from my hand to another person without disrupting the connection.LOL the fluctuations of the signal is really bad.So will a case solve this issue?Or should i just return the phone and wait for them to get rid of the problem
And second like i said earlier its shell is a Unibody design.Come on they are a Taiwanese company i am sure people can mix up terms for that.Cut HTC some slack.Come on HTC i still havent lost faith in you.FIX IT and Prove us all wrong.
I need to argue, 10 Jun 2011Am not going to argue withy you because you are a apple fan boy or you work for them. The fact... moreI decided to do a bit of research on what seems to be a public perception that MS bailed out Apple back in 1997 in order to ensure there is adequate competition. This is what I believed at the time as well. What I found was that it seems that the reason for the deal was that there were some patent disputes between MS and Apple. It was actually in MS's best interest to settle those disputes. The deal made it appear that MS was being a good guy and bailing out Apple. It seemed in reality, there was more to it and much more money exchanged hands than what was disclosed. I'm sure there was a significant number of non-discloser agreements regarding this deal.
It seemed that the way the announcement was made was successful in making it appear to be something more significant than the patent settlements. I think it was in MS's best interest to not look like they violated patents and had to pay up. MS had other law suits to deal with as well. Anything to reverse the bad PR MS had to deal with being a near monopoly was welcome.
I didn't think that MS could have just not do that deal to settle the patent disputes. Apple having learned its lesson earlier with failed law suits was better prepared this time around. Apple could have achieved a victory and a very public one had MS not settled. It seemed that it was in MS's best interest to make that deal not just for the patent disputes, but for various other strategic reasons as well. I think both companies benefited from the deal and some other companies (such as Netscape) were hurt in the end.
this video is dumb. really? why would anyone deliberately hold their phone like this when they're browsing? even in landscape mode you cant cover the whole backend of the phone. if this is the way you use your phone then you're better off using an payphone cause you're not smart enough for a smart phone. a monkey can probably use it better. i mean really? lets not be idiots here. if you dont like the phone dont buy it. don't try to make morons out of the rest of the world.
EndlessDream94, 10 Jun 2011Its just funny how you claim Apple is such a "fail corporation". Please keep in min... moreAm not going to argue withy you because you are a apple fan boy or you work for them. The fact is that mac are no where to be found i the industries. the truth is that you don't want to accept the fact that apple is doing well because of Microsoft. If apple have a little success is because of Microsoft. If microsoft was the only os provider for the computer the gouverment would had come to take control of the price because they would have the monopole of the market. I think you know that but you are just refusing to accept the truth.
I need to argue, 10 Jun 2011Am a student in computer science's. My teacher told me that the only reason that apple is aliv... moreIts just funny how you claim Apple is such a "fail corporation". Please keep in mind that Apple is one of the most successful companies in the world and they have changed the face of certain markets over their 35 year history. This ranges from software to hardware and everything in between. With such an amazing track record to call them a "fail" is complete ignorance. And your knowledge of Apple/Microsoft history is not quite clear. There were patent dispute resolutions that played a big role in Microsofts buying of Apple shares back in 1997. It wasn't because they needed competition. Whoever told you that should not be in education. And pretty much all of your major tech companies - none of them make all of the parts they put into their systems. Apple makes some of their hardware but handles pretty much everything in terms of software. However they are known as one of the only companies to handle both hardware and software that is on their devices, whether it be Macs or iOS devices. Apple's goals I feel are pretty clear when it comes to their products: Make products that are easy to use for everyone without all of the headaches. My original comments to you were not to start an argument but to clear up that Apple is certainly not a fail by any means. Any company that can sell 25 million tablets in only 14 months is nowhere close to being a "fail". And while PC sales have actually diminished slightly... sales of Macs have been on the rise for years. Even Apple's competitors know their success. To ignore it would be detrimental. If your competitor is doing something right, its best to learn from them rather than just ignore it.
yeah, they really can't accept defeat from galaxy s2. anyhow, many are patiently waiting for the galaxy s2 now, wether they take it or leave it, it such a phone with so many things to offer above any else. my mom got an arc, at first she was so proud having it but later on, if she ever wnated to access the web, she needs to turn off any active apps backgroud. my dad git the s2 just a couple of days back and my mom envy him a lot. it even came to the point when my mom is using my dad's phone by and by. see how powerful it was. and my mom fell deeply in,love with the super amoled plus. geee... and the sensation offers the same with the arc except for the premium biult and the 1.2
dual core processor.
Denying an existing problem is not a solution HTC! Face it please!
Sky, 10 Jun 2011Industry run linux not windows =DNot all i would say 30% of all compagnie. 70% run on windows globally . But i know alot of coutry in europe run on linux

if anyone holds their device like the video portrays then you deserve to lose signal because you look like a crinkled up hand dummy. the device is perfect and iv'e not had a sngle issue with mine. this is apple trying to take heat off of themselves!
NSX, 09 Jun 2011The so called "death grip" in iPhone is the result of their engineers' incompetence ... moreNo offense intended but Apple screwed up...ok. But a more experienced company like HTC, that SAW WHAT HAPPENED TO APPLE, and STILL went ahead and screwed up, that is just plain unacceptable! And the people I know with the iPhone 4 - none of them were able to duplicate this signal problem on their phones. As for Apple's computers - I'll fight to the death anyone that says they are crap.
I need to argue, 10 Jun 2011Look like you said apple apple only have 4 model. Yes but if there were 6 more model for apple... moreYou missed my point. And your impressions of Apple as a company are completely wrong. Whoever taught you that was clearly wrong and doesn't understand what Apple is all about. But yea - my point was that you said Apple was a fail because of the way they do things. What you are forgetting is that iOS doesn't only run on iPhones, but on iPads and on iPod touches. When you add in those extra devices the iOS market share skyrockets. And by that logic - RIM is also a fail since their Blackberry OS only runs on their devices. Apple is a hardware AND software company. Not too many companies are like that. Apple has a HUGE campus in California and I highly doubt its filled with ALL marketers. You said Apple was just a marketing company, which is obviously untrue. Apple has done nothing different than many other big corporations by buying and investing in smaller companies with great tech. And Microsoft and Apple were in a patent war at the time they made that investment in 97. There is a lot more to it than just that Microsoft needed competition. And I use Macs. I don't care who has the bigger market share in computers. Microsoft also has the larger share of problems. I like using a computer I know is going to work well for me. But this isn't about Macs this is about iOS and Apple.
NSX, 09 Jun 2011The so called "death grip" in iPhone is the result of their engineers' incompetence ... moreThat is the fact. But people just don't see it, their mind is blinded by their loyalty to other manufacturers.
..., 09 Jun 2011That is no excuse... If you implement new tehnology then upgrade also the radio comunication.... moreAntenna issue has been around for years from ALL manufacturers, that includes Nokia as well as other laptops and wireless adapters, especially when there's metallic material involved. I know this because I have been mobile phone technician for years. People did not notice about it because it usually only occurs when you cover the top of the device with your palm, and no one would hold the phone that way under normal circumstances. Just like you wouldn't cover your laptop LCD panel where the antenna usually located at with your body, but the it does exist. iPhone 4 was different in "death grip" case, because the problem occurs when you grip the both sides with your fingers, which indeed affects the signal when you hold it in normal way. So why does this article matter? The answer is pretty simple - they don't want iPhone 4 look bad with the "death grip" hype.
