The front looks absolutely stunning. Not so sure about the back, though.
YES. No round corner screen

It's approaching the 1k... moreIn terms of price it depends on whether you need to be an early adopter (and get the bugs to go with that). Right now the street price of the S8 is not much more than the 128 GB OnePlus 5 (which since the O+ doesn't have expansion would be the one I'd choose), even if the official list price is much higher. Probably more for the S8+ but I'd never choose the larger one so don't pay attention to that.
Of course two manufacturers will try to keep the same price for the whole lifetime of the phone: Apple and Google. But for everyone else, including Huawei, waiting a little will reduce the prices to more reasonable levels.
A lot of people these days complain about how the smartphones aren't ACTUALLY "bezel-less" (which I agree with). Let's just hope that when the bezels ARE fully gone that they change then name to "bezel-free" and everybody shuts up. XD
Can'y when to see it on the launching date.

It's approaching the 1k mark. It's not like i couldn't afford a 1k smartphone. But soon a mid-range handset just does everything what a flagship does. My oneplus 5 does everything what a samsung s8 does and in some occasions even better. Ok, there is not iris scanning and other features but hell, who uses that anyway?
What i mean, soon mid tier phones will have have dual camera setups, bezeless screens, ip68 ratings and good enough SOC for heavy gaming already with an all aluminium build for 400-500e
There will be a moment, where flagship hones will get as expensive as 1.5k or even 2k.
And i'm afraid people will still buy these phones merely because they want to show off or are tech enthusiasts. For me, giving more than 600euros on a phone is already overkill.
The new iphone X costs 1.2k here in portugal.
For that price i recently purchased a gaming laptop Asus ROG with a i7 7700hq with a nvidia 1060 graphics card with 256 SSD and 12GB RAM.
For the same price i got something portable, with a powerhorse performance, a way bigger screen etc...
Some people rather buy a really great DSLR to take professional pictures

I like the device and its design, but I do think the Mate 9 looks better.
Front looks dope, but Mate 9's front is still great with minimal bezel to go along the road.
I must say if i genuinely like any mobile company after hTC then its Huawei and now I love Huawei.
