No headphone jack and sd card slot so no buy.
Google is a hypocrite!!
Feels kinda dumb to purchase mediocre hardware at a premium so you get access to the excellent software. Especially when google is the one who's maintaining the Android platform in the first place.
It just another slab phone to me. Just this one has one of the best cameras to date.
The truth is, iPhones have made it acceptable to have over Priced smartphone with low screen resolutions, average brightness, no wireless charging, no waterproofing, old design language, bad low light camera, no expandable storage, no headphone jack, etc etc.
While newer generations of their smartphones have addressed some of these issues, many of them have only gotten worse with time.
Having said that, the iPhone has ensured that almost anything can be sold in the name of premium or novelty value, if packaged well.
While the New Pixel Phones have addressed some of the issues with previous phones, they have still left things like the design language, expandable storage etc untouched. It can be safely said that the Pixel phones are mainly a single trick pony, one job at whih they afe absilitely stellar. They take the absolute best photos from a smartphone camera. Photo and Video. And while some of it is slightly better than the competition, the dynamic range and colours for the most part, are way better than many smartphones out there. Sometimes, that is enough.
LG V30 is a better phone overall, except user interface. I like the clean stock android on the Pixel.
Everyone is complaining about the price, will remember this device will be the most to get all the update that you needed all the support that came from android ( google ) those camera is way awesome compared to those gimmicky devices that has 2 cameras.
And once the new o.s will arrive there you go keep on screaming about the delayed update not to mention : SAMSUNG...
Speaking about build quality this is for you NOKIA fans we have a lot of phones that is more durable than this nokia I have a moto x pure moto z force moto z2 x1 x2 and droids from Verizon and I can say that their build quality is superb so get over this saying that nokian is the king of durability nahhhh
and hek you always put casings on your phone...
Nah! Anything without a 3.5 mm headphone (and an SD card slot) just isn't worth it.....
SKR..., 08 Oct 2017I never find the Pixel series worth for its pricing. I've used them a lot of times and find th... moreDesign isn't everything to users. All year long, every flagship gets hated on design...
S8 - Curved display, weird aspect ratio
iPhone X - Notch and ugly camera hump
Nokia 8, Pixel 2, Sony phones - Too much bezel
From my experience with my Pixel for six months as a daily driver, the software fluidity was good enough to make it worth it. Every tap felt instantaneous. Design and different color options on the back don't mean squat to some people when they put it in a case anyway.
Fuji-san, 08 Oct 2017@ Rawoen Oh come on, Nokia phones aren't *that* bad. Especially the Nokia 9 sounds promising... moreThe new Pixels may not look the best, but their cameras are great, you can check different videos on YT. It takes awesome pictures, even with one camera. It is pricey, but everything with high quality is expensive you know.
High price, few service centre support, no HDR10 display, no wireless charging, no micro sd, no headphone jack. No.
Oh come on, Nokia phones aren't *that* bad.
Especially the Nokia 9 sounds promising and will easily pocket the Pixels.
The only thing that the Pixel 2 wins is the "Ugliest phone 2017" award, and the "Almost more bezels than screen" award. That's it.
It's very unspectacular - removed headphone jack, the camera has been downgraded with smaller sensor size... The only thing that's much bigger is the price XD
