Essential Phone gets a camera-boosting update Comments

For me this is the most impressive and desired phone this year. It combines great design, outstanding specs and the most shocking - great dimensions. Unfortunately they didn't have luck with its launch. Most of the reviewers on youtube said they will return their phones because of the camera.
Since this is a luxury product, it is far away from my budget frame, but I hope someone will adopt this design concept and will bring to market something similar, but affordable. Any way, good luck to Essential.

as per 2017 this phone is just a brick with tech nothing else nothing impressive just expensive, this phone should be priced at 400 dollars and the it would sell like hot cakes. but right now only 5000 units are sold which is bad.

Such an amazing phone,but for what? Who needs two cameras and the other useless features? Nowadays the phones has a lot of functions, and everyday it comes better, and bigger, and more expensive. But actually just a few people uses ALL that features... Bigger is not better. Think about it

Car have much more and complicated parts and dont sell 10s of millions in a year

I talked only about design which I really appreciate because of their material choice and personal preference. Didn't talked about overall things. Don't respond just for the sake of it. If people can accept those giant bezels on ip 8 plus then some compromise can be made for essential too. It's up to the users. Let it launch in India I would think about your suggestion.

Tech-9, 06 Oct 2017comparing only changed things in phones - camera and cpu/gpu prices are sooooooo high ave... moreYou have to factor in the R&D that goes into making these phones, any extra fee charged by suppliers/manufacturers, import/export tariffs etc etc. and you eventually get a phone that costs maybe a $100 less than its retail value per unit. There is still some markup because the company has to make a profit.

The camera just needs to be average to a little below average amongst last years flagships for it to be good to me. I love the form factor of this phone - smaller than my 5.1" phone but a much larger screen without it being super tall. I just wish it weren't so heavy and so expensive.

the screen seem a lots more bezel less ( on the edge and top ) and a bit more on the bottom than iphone X ( sorry but those big black shiny glass bezel on the iphone X are bezel! )
