AnonD-656673, 07 Oct 2017This is the most frustrating news right now. Can't believe everyone still trying to copy Apple... moreSo true. After Apple was too incompetent to get the under-glass fingerprint scanner to work, they switched to Face ID as a last resort.
You can see it's a half-assed solution they never planned to use, but ended up with because they ran out of time and options.
When Jony Id1ot wanted to demonstrate it for the first time, it failed. It should better be called Fail ID XD
It's just very disappointing, if not downright disturbing, if others now try to copy this awful last resort gimmick, instead of trying to get under-glass fingerprint scanner to work.
Looks like Android OEMs have to fire up the plagiarism engine. Next version of Android will have no nav menu, swipe up to close app. Here is where I tell you to face the facts.
Apple Introduced Wireless Charging.
Apple introduced Wireless headsets.
Apple introduced headphone jack-free phones.
Apple Introduced Facial recognition
Apple Introduced Fingerprint scanner
Apple introduced Edge to Edge display. Current android flagships haven't managed it yet.
Anonymous, 07 Oct 2017... because it is by apple, right?Nope bt due to the fact that these companies might think of sidelining the fingerprint sensor itself, the idea of 3d sensing face detection was smart by apple bt the fact that they removed the fingerprint sensor was the problem ,I don't like apple bt I would be foolish to say that 3d sensing face detection is stupid, the fingerprint scanner under the screen might be little hard but sidelining that is bad
Anonymous, 07 Oct 2017So now removing the headphone has become a thing to brag about?WE ARENOT BRAGGING about that, cant you understand i am providing exact and accurate INFORMATION to those people who are blinded by nonsense company UNDERSTAND??

lol did you know that Motorola and leeco remove the headphone jack first before your beloved fruity company??
face ID will dominate but it has its limits too, like when you wear masks(at some level it wont work anymore) i think a phone will eventually know you from all combinations as like you won't know(unless you read log files) which way it used to recognize you fingers, eyes, palm or face.
I don't care about any of it. Do not feel comfortable with giving my fingerprint, iris scan or my face scan to any private company.
Anonymous, 07 Oct 2017lol apple set standards??? you must dreaming pal.. as we all know Toshiba is exclusive only in... moreThat is what I mean by fanboy comment :) Nobody followed Toshiba or Motorola when they introduced fingerprint readers. The technology wasn't ready, poor implementations with swipe readers. After Apple released TouchID, everyone else followed.
I'd rather they work to make the iris scanner infallible. The latest iteration in the note8 is excellent. It works much faster than the fingerprint scanner and it works equally well in the dark. Security features could be enhanced from hereon.

I don't think that's all they can churn. I am guessing they couldn't bother themselves pulling out the voice recognition card or throwing out the digital signature card for added layers of securities because they're focused with fingerprints and facials at the moment. Maybe for 2019 or 2020. Don't worry, they'll get there eventually
When Apple copies they usually copies good stuff. But when other companies copy from Apple, they usually copy bad stuff. Like Google removed headphone jack from pixel. They didn't even explain.
Anonymous, 07 Oct 2017If you are about security, it's better than everything else available, including the passcode,... moreDon't get me wrong, I'm all for security but: "If you are about security, it's [I'm assuming FaceID or facial recognition in general] better than everything else available..." and right at the end "...you can still use a passcode."
Cool, so what is better than a passcode, you say? You're proofreading what you're writing, aren't you? It seems your statements don't cohere

Screenshot your comment and save it. Come back again in three years when all phone maker using 3D facial recognition then you should be shame of your comment now.

Hello apple is million dollar copycat company, everytime they bring something "new" on iphone, that actually not new at all, they just copy from unpopular company or tech long time ago that just few people knew it, and they labeled new
