Did anyone notice the lack of detail and unusual noise for how bright it was when the photos were taken? It's clear they reduce the sensor size, and the "niceness" is in software processing - all fake. How did it go unnoticed by dxomark?!

Ip68 devices : m4 aqua, m5, z3... moreIP67 means that the device should be water resistant for up to 30 minutes down to 1 metre and IP68 should be water resistant for up to 30 minutes down to 1.5 metres. This is regarding "fresh water" only so if you wish to take your water resistant device into the ocean then do not expect it to continue functioning properly (even if you were to wash off the salty water) . Both should also be dust resistant although I personally have had to brush off the dust from my mic on my s8 after doing some decorating. After the dust was removed my mic was like new again instead of being slightly muffled because of the dust blockage. Water resistance is a great feature but I for one don't feel the need to submerge my phone in water for any reason.

I would get the... moreno phone in the world is true waterproof, the water resistance of a phone (1m depth - 30 minutes / 1.5m depth - 30 minutes) pales in front of the waterproofness of a watch for example ( 50/100/300m depth ), but I admit that it's easier to make a waterproof watch than a water resistant phone

It seems like it takes worser photos then V30. Dynamic range is superior but the sharpness at 100 crop is underwelming

these are great. i own a ip7+ but i must agree the sensor what google has put in the pixels are great. and with ios 11, i feel like switching back to android. ios11 suck

if they only sell 2 milion phones ayear why they bother that much with the camera ... i think google spends too much time on pixels when they dnt bother to sell them . every one knows pixels are about pure android . who buyes them for the cam ?

I would get the panda colored Pixel 2 XL if didn't look so much like its predecessor and with an orange power button. Of course, everyone complains about design. People hate curved displays, weird aspect ratios, ugly notch with ears, bezel-less, bezel-ful. No matter what companies do, people are screaming UGLY UGLY UGLY od TOO BIG or TOO WEIRD.
Google will likely change it up next year. Most companies just reuse the same design for 2-4 years now. Pixel 3 likely goes waterproof. It's usually the 3rd through 5th gen when they get things right. First two generations is mostly trial and error. Note series didn't hit its stride until Note 3 & 4. Best alternative for me is V30 but I hate glass rears.

Pretty great photos, I'm impressed. But great camera alone does not seal the deal. Pixel2XL's lack of many other essential hardware features, ho-hum aesthetics, and high price takes it out of contention with Note8, S8+, and V30. Don't be evil Google, don't try to fuq us consumers over like your idol Apple is doing. There WILL be backlash, smart consumers will crusade against you like they're doing to Apple and it's gonna hurt.

Ip68 devices : m4 aqua, m5, z3, z3c, z3 tablet, z3+, z4 tablet, z5, z5c, z5p, x perf, xz, xzs, xzp, xz1, xz1c, s7, s7e, s7actv, n7 fe, s8, s8+, n8, s8actv, moto x4.
I am not sure if g6 and v30 are ip67 or ip68
Iphones, pixel and htc are ip67
