Dont use automatic update from kies.
Instead search and download it from samsung site.
Once u have latest kies the option will be there.

What's up with the original htc desire? Still no gingerbread update, even the wildfire s comes with it, but not the original desire. I think they promised it for June, but it doesn't seem to be coming any soon.

All they said was "Testing" and that has been going on for last 2 months :(

hmmmm...... everybody having a qustion i saw one of them is great ask i got it by finding 3 dats searching. abt it. kies is just a powerful app to multimedia feature but updates ha ha one way out only switch off your ph then press volume + key,nevigation key,power key at a time. then it will show a sign that u seen in labour working areas then connect it with pc & update by the update files given by samfirmware.

Unfortunately for you you have to rely on your operator for updates. Only unbranded, unlocked phones get updates from Samsung directly.

For the branded phones, it's not samsung who decide when they update but the networks!!!
As you may know, the 2.3.3 is available since a long time and you still stuck on 2.1??

We are still on 2.2, waiting for OPTUS to release 2.3.3 here in Australia.
Optus and the rest of the Telco's are pathetic. "We are testing it.." I don't see them testing iOS before it's release!More like they like to add their bloat-ware IF ANYTHING.
I think they just want to peeve customers off so they will buy something new.

vdfirl, 10 Jun 2011and i am still on 2.2 in ireland.this is sad...try going to GPO arcade in town, you'll see a store there who fixes and upgrades firmware for free. goodluck!
