If profits did rise it was only because of high prices on devices with cut corners. Like the g6 and v30.
Hopefully this means that for next devices they will do things better.
Or that art least of they continue this route it doesn't last forever. That one they work out some kinks and continue making a profit they will make a proper device again

But I can't blame them either, 'cause Samsung and Apple have very strong audience impact, and now some average Chinese OEMs like Oppo and Vivo are getting stronger. Huawei does deserve their thing though; it's the only Chinese smartphone manufacturer that I like and can be a fan of.
Anyways, LG did the same marketing tricks like Samsung in the past (which actually got me interested in smartphones) but they just didn't quite make it. For one, the availability of their devices aren't so good, which makes the people that are interested with their phones frustrated at looking for their products.
New things aren't always sentenced to death. Sure, when they fail or didn't really succeed, but "sentenced to death" sounds like wasting technological developments, which I really pity.

No updates no nothing... LG is the worst company I ever known!

I can't believe that LG is still growing.... Thier products are sooo... i can,t even find a word to describe that company... A light switch on a fridge that worth less that 2$ US and LG refuse the right of resellers to sell those pieces to canadian.. and in canada you have to pay nearly 250$ to get it repared! LG for me.... NEVER again... for a fridge nor a TV or event a cellphone! I only had bad experience with them... whatever the product i owned from them.

Their modular design G5 was supposedly a success, but it didn't kinda make it, and Motorola did it better, but still, I don't think Motorola would be motivated to do the same thing if LG didn't start it in the first place.
Curved back of the G4 was a precious thing, though not so many people have appreciated it, but it was a nice way of trying new things.
And the point is, trying new things leads to innovation. By experimenting things, we could potentially discover something. Instead of just standing still and doing nothing, OEMs should start doing extraordinary things to move forward. Not all of them will be guaranteed successful, but we can always improve whatever we have with time, but it's still better than doing the same exact things over and over again for years; customers would be bored and not get bothered getting the newest models.

LG G4 Curve body - curve display - G5 modular - G6 Full Vision , new world trend LG also introduce 2:1 with rounded corner as we see in galaxy S and new note full rounded . second display is v10 and v20 . lg just testing things . i feel and it seems they make they phone w/o Initial test. the only ok things is Wide Second camera

just today buy G4 for someone, i hate lg since today it's not even better than my k10 , just camera is supreme focus and decent in day. remote control is ok it's another fall g3 with a good camera nothing changes . i hate lg because i think with upgrade of 6 the ui change like LG G5 which you can have it even in low range x power or mid range stylus 2 or 3 . i don't like this damn ui 4.0 . maybe LG UX 5.0 or Huawei - new or old new is better ... samsung specially with physical nav keys was better for elders . only i can tell i buy a phone worse than LG K10 better call it Smart Camera with a low range ui . camera is best

These stupid Oppoor and Vivoo (boo) are getting the recognition for making iPhone clones and fooling people to have the exact best hardware. 'Selfie' is not what people really need, at least most don't care, but 'Quality' is what everyone definitely needs.
