Vineet290, 11 Oct 2017They failed because they are way behind the time and people aleady bored of that things... Opt... moreVineet, the failure of Nokia was due to Microsoft. Simple. I'll explain you logically.
Nokia while behind in terms of updation, was far ahead in innovation. Although it did lose market share, it had its niche users which made a market across the world with Symbian and Meego.
Everytime a Symbian handset was launched, it sold 20 million units on launch, with ZERO advertisement. You realize this? Even Nokia 808 Pureview, the last Symbian phone was a success in terms of sales.
You don't believe me? Try getting one online... You just try right now & see the prices!
While Elop was blabbering about burning platform, he forgot that some of us needed Smartphones, and not oversmart phones. Not those that push updates and notifications even when we're working on our job (that Facebook update is not urgent I believe).... The real admins of today's phones are not owners, they're american companies whether Google or Apple or whatever.
I for one, is still prepared to purchase another Symbian phone as it is.
Vineet290, 11 Oct 2017They failed because they are way behind the time and people aleady bored of that things... Opt... moreWay behind times? LOL.. Apart from the trojan Elop opting windows phone Nokia produced products that were way ahead of everyone.. Nokia N9 had the best gesture touch interface that is only recently being replicated.. Nokia 808 had the best camera sensor still unbeaten to this day.. Nokia 920 had the first OIS camera.. Nokia also introduced Rich Recording mic which is able to record even loud concert sound up to 120dB.. Compare that to the mono recording of the iPhone 8/X.. Nokia had SDXC support up to 128GB with exFAT format since 2012.. Nokia also had clear black screen tech..just see the Nokia 8 review - AMOLED beating sunlight legibility from LCD.. Only Nokia does that.. I could go on and on.. You should start educating yourself no kid
Sad. But like the article said, the high price must have contributed siginificantly in this niche market of high-end VR capturing devices.
VR is a future, it just obvious, problem of course is just high price of those cameras. Once high end VR devices becomes more affordable and technology improves it will explode in intrest and market share

AnonD-707111, 10 Oct 2017What will happen to the Ozo surround sound of Nokia phones then? Will that be available in fut... moreOZO audio in Nokia phones would still be available. New technology / research alone is being shunted for time being.
Love the Community, 10 Oct 2017But but what about muh Star Wars VIII VR made with Nokia OZO? If that content is good, I hope ... moreOZO camera will be still available. The demand for higher innovation dosen't seem a near requirement. So development / innovation alone is shut down for OZO camera. Not the sales.
Anonymous, 10 Oct 2017Lol at the people who said VR was the future. Biggest gimmick ever! I knew it wasn't gonna last futuristic , yes. but not now. that's all. A future is not far when you can make skype VR calls , have camera drones attached to your phone . would be a totally different experience.

Vineet290, 11 Oct 2017They failed because they are way behind the time and people aleady bored of that things... Opt... moreVery wrong idea. VR technology is less in interest to the common man, the trend has not come yet. The technology is ahead of time.. Maybe they could give it a shot after 5 years.
True.
Every company should have a bottom end product for the masses too.... This is how companies survive.
Last time I checked, OZO camera had a price tag of $60,000... Then what do you expect?
They could've had a Micro USB Camera which could've been attached to any phone for flagship grade pics, something like a 1/2.3 inch sensor, 16 MP, f 1.8 or wider, etc...
There is no such high reputation product in the market yet, sadly so.
AnonD-558092, 10 Oct 2017I guess people don't care as much about VR as companies want us to think. But it's because
1:... more1) Content always comes across as tech demo
2) VR is limited and a hassle

Nokia is one of the few companies left that kept innovating and pushing the boundaries of technology.. Of course some projects will not produce results not because they failed but because they are way ahead of the time and the market is not ready for such technology.. At least Nokia is better than other companies that sit on their butts and wait for the technology to become mainstream and cheap before applying it to their products
Aside from realizing that the market for VR is still underway and not really booming
some companies have already started to realize that they just cant compete...
Would love try watching some adult content with a VR headset, as a single human
male, I think everyone in this case can relate?
