This phone came out with fingerprint scanner unlock (rear mounted) in 2011, Apple brought it to their iPhone in 2013, don't act like an ignorant apple fanboy. And yes, i repeat, nobody gives a damn about animated poop(may be 12 year olds but certainly no adults) or a new unlock method. That's just a way to get into your phone.

You c... moreNobody gives a damn if the biggest innovation you tout is in sending animated poop to your friends or a f*cking unlocking method(that's not even convenient and people are currently using that with samsung or lg).... Whether it's secure or not comes later, Fingerprint sensor was both convenient and secure, now convenience is taken out, nobody cares about how much more secure it is than fingerprint sensor, 1 in a million chance is a marketing gimmick, 6 digit passcode is equally secure in that case, and better yet it doesn't need the cr*p like depth recognition or infrared they sold to their fans in key note....... They could not even put fingerprint sensor on the back side? what's excuse for that? ohhh, their logo, that must be it....

You lost me there. X doesn't have what PH-1 and Aquos S2 have, a chin bezel. Essential's notch is smaller than the X since that one has a "Kinect" module.

I'd love to have a folding screen phone. It would be perfect. A 4-5" screen phone, but when you open it, it transforms into a 8-10" screen tablet.
As for fragmentation, MOSTLY that's a non issue. Save for security patches, most people don't care, and don't know which OS is on their phone, as long as it works as intended.
This "fragmentation" crap is just marketing, to get people to toss out an older phone, for one with a NEW OS...new is better, just like a brighter screen, faster processor, more megapixels on the camera, dual cameras will make your "user experience" better some how. Bunch of marketing garbage to charge more for a phone with "gimmicks".
When the folding phone finally does appear, don't look for me to stand in line to get one though. I'll wait and let the eager beavers be the guinea pigs...I'll wait for the version 2 or 3 before I jump on board.

its only fragmented if you jump between mid range and flagship, not all phones are eligible for major updates and given that there are over 2.5 BILLION active android users, its no surprise there is fragmentation considering the cheapest androids can go from less then $50/£50, otherwise most phones get an OS updates for 2 years, dont be such a dimwit

Apple who plays catchup and charges rip off prices to basically have the iphone x just include the stuff you can get in a Samsung galaxy s8 anyway? Lets see what apple did this year, AMOLED screen (bought from Samsung themselves) copying Samsung, wireless charging copying Samsung and others, edge to edge screen design copying Samsung and others.
Apple basically pooped the bed and so they decided they needed to 'reinvent' the way you unlock the phone ... yeah. Literally just the mechanism to access your phone that was already really easy. It's not really a killer feature because the alternative is already safe and convenient enough anyway. Other than that it was just animoji, great for entertaining the kids or pratting around with but again, nothing killer or that makes anyone jealous. Iphones are just playing catchup and now they've caught up we await the next Samsung or LG or Sony that will push the limits and make iphone play catchup again. They used to innovate, they used to be stylish but now you are just touting an over priced, behind the times phone. Even the design isn't that stylish and is behind what Samsung and others are doing with curved display to make them unique or much better implemented borderless displays etc.
