Well, this OS not for everybody ... it is an OS for people who tired of poor interface, usability and design which makes u feel that no one thought of you...
its brilliant OS, and i don't mind (read excuse) not working BT or other stuff... its only temp issue...
... and do shivering when have to take and work on Android device ... and iOS actually loosing it lately ... sad...
I wish the Xperia X (F5122) was supported (Dual Sim).
So close to having this yet so far. EUR49 is another bummer.
No, thx. My Xperia X works fine on latest official nougat firmware and i will wait for Oreo from Sony.
This offer hardly makes sense for avg joe like me.
Bluetooth working out of the Box. SailfishOS runs great, Android Support is also working (Android 4.4.4 Alien Dalvik).
Not working atm: Fingerprint scanner, Barometer, Step-Counter
no bluetooth, fingerprint, radio, sensors..
what next? bugs.. you tell me?
build a proper OS first, then sell it.
Anonymous, 13 Oct 2017Yap, finally logical sense. Bring this OS to z3 & z3c, it was the best hardwareTrue. The Z3C was an awesome combination of size, weight, and performance.
AnonD-633729, 12 Oct 2017Yeah...difference is phones' bezels are smaller. Sony did a great job to put more bezels than ... moreAnd no one mention the pixel 2 or iphone 8,

49,90 euro. LOL. Even Windows 10 Mobile is better choice!
Not really logical move, sailfish OS is very limited comparing to Android, I mean you get stricter OS with not working Bluetooth functionality and other sensors. And you need to pay 50 euro, if it would be free, why not, but 50 euro, I mean who will even consider that to buy? :)
"Keep in mind that the current OS release doesn't offer support for features like Bluetooth, new sensors (e.g. barometer, step counter), fingerprint, and FM-radio.
Carrying a price tag of €49.90,"
These devs have something in their brain? They want 50€ for an experimental product which isn't better then a free stock Android or even the already installed Xperia skin of Android?
So you want from the user to pay 49 for a new OS no body knows about the bags of it then you will tell me after that pay money for the application e.g. Whatsapp, Youtube and etc which are already free......then you want from the user to accept your concept? how? please tell me, the market is full guys
Anonymous, 12 Oct 2017lol true. sony needs new source of money from somewheresony didn't create this OS. it actually jolla that create sailfish and they the one that charge the OS price. sony never charge any os on smartphone
AnonD-17317, 12 Oct 2017It's good to launch a self OS for Sony but:
1- Why is not free such as Android
2- How I can ... moreandroid is open source based on linux which is free too. sailfish is propriety OS basedon Qt which is paid too.
jolla is small company and based on this past 4 years. they have bad rep and the did promised many time but fail later on.
there's no marketing because they aim for country like india and rusia rather than worldwide
Sony can really make an OS that will dominate the market but due to stupid marketing strategies and sleeping designers at Sony HQ this thing won't happen anytime soon. (just saying that sony has the potential)
AnonD-324300, 12 Oct 2017So, I'm supposed to give up Bluetooth (and other useful hardware) and pay 50 bucks for that. D... moreBluetooth works partially (calls etc.) and rest can be installed manually with patches. Also official bluetooth support is coming later.
50 bucks is cheap price for real privacy against the Android Os spyware.
