Anonymous, 13 Oct 2017Ok but to my understanding the Active edition is less waterproof than the regular S8? At least... morethere 'were' some issues with the S7 Active in regards to water protection. Samsung owned up to it, replaced damaged units, modified the warranty on existing units and even replaced ones just because people were concerned (understandably) as a proactive measure.

I've had the Active phones now for several generations. Skipped the S7 active in favor of the Edge. Even though I kept it in a good protective case I was always afraid of that curved glass getting smashed. Back to the Active line with my S8. And this phone is an absolute beast. I've taken it all over with me and have zero fear of actually hurting this thing. Plus the battery held out for 4 days with power saving options running! Throw in fast charging and wireless charging and it's unstoppable on long outdoor adventures.

Just glad to see those idiotic camo colors went away.

Ok but to my understanding the Active edition is less waterproof than the regular S8? At least that was the case with S7/S7 Active?? Am I missing something? Why did they screw up the Active editions?

              Neato.

But will it arrive just after the iPhone X and just before the Galaxy S9?
Which if it does, it will be overlooked by everyone.
And will they charge exorbitant amounts for it, whilst simultaneously failing to support its carrier-bloated software?
