I've seen websites talking about it running Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow.
But this video shows that "2017 Edition" is just marketing to sell the remaining stock.
It's exactly the Galaxy J2 2015. Only the box that is different even. Even the Android version is the same.

It's exactly the Galaxy J2 2015, but with Android Marshmallow.
It's even stupid for Samsung to call it Galaxy J2 2017, because if it was, it should follow the Galaxy J 2017 series design and specification guideline, and its model number should be SM-J230.
Funny that the model number of this device is SM-J200G. The "G" is usually used in "Pro" editions of its devices, such as Galaxy J2 (2016), Galaxy J3 (2016), Galaxy J5 (2017) and Galaxy J7 (2017). But Pro models usually have extra RAM and internal memory.
In practice, as only the Android version changes, it's more for a "Galaxy J2 Value Edition".
