Wow! That's is so insane!
"We're sorry, this time you can trust us fo' realz"
If you want privacy and cyber security in this age, use a Nokia 3310. No internet = No data transmission. OnePlus at least admitted it when the matter is out in public, unlike other companies who would've denied it for damage control. The statement is like asking your gf for some more time after getting caught cheating on her with some other girl. Haha. Nice drama by OnePlus.
AnonD-695532, 14 Oct 2017Instead of trusting these Chinese brands, better go for iPhone or Nokia 8Go for iPhone? Ok, lol

So Apple are any better are they? First they wanted a copy of your fingerprint (fingerprint scanner), then they wanted a photograph of your face (face recognition), and then left your WiFi on even when you turned it off (now you have to go into Settings to turn it off completely). So Apple have your fingerprint, your face, and now your location all the time.
Good, I'm still loving the OP3 experience. The recent update is also awesome. It's great that there are parties watching out for security issues, and also that One Plus has responded to this. I have disabled the user experience program long time ago.

AnonD-706178, 14 Oct 2017Why collect costumers details in the first place????Did you read the article?
Does this apply for all current Oneplus phones, or the new Oneplus 5T or 6 anticipated for next month release?
Too late for that.
R.I.P.
One plus...
Everybody collects all data anyway... Apple, Microsoft, Google, governments etc., Do you really believe that only OnePlus does that??
how is this any different from US branded phones? But instead of the data being sent through software, its integrated into the hardware - Qualcomm, Intel, Apple.
Why collect costumers details in the first place????
So if OnePlus you were not exposed u will continue to collect peoples data discretely? Disgusting principle is it not?
acn, 14 Oct 2017too late you idiots, i don't trust you anymoreAnd they cheat on the benchmark scores by overclocking the cpu to the limit when a benchmark test was detected.
Only Sony, Sammy and maybe LG for me. I'm not interested in other brands.
stop now because they have too much data, and don't know what to do with it all, yet. they have enough.
OnePlus = spyPhone
Headless fans and bots will say now it's ok, guys, OnePlus is the best!!!
I believe - everyone collects my data. It's a bad reality like racism, HIV and feminism. We have to fight it. But at least others doing it securely. OP absolutely doesn't care about own consumers - they sending data unencrypted. So everyone can collect you sensitive private data. Very private. Your number can be used in authorizations, banking, votings. OP don't care.
Too late. Trust is lost now.
