The patents are about radio-technology, and how a phone uses the radio to communicate.
You cant really do a phone without that technology.
So I see no reasons why the big guys wouldnt have agreements on that.
Besides, Motorola, Samsung, Sony Ericsson, probably have standing agreemtns, as they all have patented technology cruical for making mobilbe phones. So as long as Nokia still makes mobiles, that agreement should be standing.

It's either you beat or join them, the latter being the wiser decision. Smart move by Apple while Nokia still remain King!
Who is your daddy, Apple? :D
Nokia made the first GSM phone of the world, so it is impossible build a mobile phone without using Nokia's patents.
Unfortunately Nokia has lost the touch after 15 years leading the mobile industry.
nokia is a very good, comfotable& best uses handset
~THANK YOU~

I guess Huawei have some patents to cross-license with nokia.
So for the most part, there will be no change.
that means, apple has to pay nokia for every iphone that has been sold out there?
well then, nokia can rest assure.
and please stop making those iphone-wannabe phones.
those phones don't suit your image, nokia.
your fans need another great phone like N93i or N95 or N86 or E90, not some iphone-wannabe.
Now Nokia should stop the petty fighting and release an actual phone.
Nokia is Boss! Dnt Forget it! (Slap cross apple's face!) Bt on a seriuos note Nokia can now focus on my Nokia N9 MeeGo device... I would like to succeed my N900 soon! E7 js dnt cut it!
You guys know why Apple settled? It's to slow down Android. Now all the other Android OEMs will be forced to license Nokia's patents or face a similar law suit. It will hurt the Android OEMs to pay Nokia some royalties for every Android device sold. It's a blow to the low- mid range Android devices where the profit margin is low. Apple can afford to pay Nokia for every iPhones sold but can the Android OEMs do for every Android device they sell?
This is a wise and calculated move by Apple to hurt the competition. It will put a lot of pressure on the Android OEMs. This is a win for both Nokia and Apple in my not so humble opinion.
The thief got served. Pay up!
at last!!!!!!!!!!!!! i hope to see better devides from nokia!!
whew glad to hear its over..
nice to hear that their fight was over ..... nokia must improve their devices apple the samething
