AnonD-3575, 14 Jun 2011so, if you assume nokia will be dead in two years, is that stupid? nokia is still dominating ... moreOn the contrary i assume nothing. There is no way to know when a company will die or when a certain os will stop being used.Oh and BTW you just proved my point by assuming that i assumed that Nokia will die in 2 years wich i did not

nokia is still dominating the dumbphone market
not to mention the money they get from patents and everything else they do...

on the other hand, if people loose interest in htc phones, htc is as good as dead

you're showing complete ignorance by saying otherwise. they're still no.1, maybe not as dominant as before, but nevertheless no.1
nokia is not a 2 year old company

[deleted post]Imagine you have a store that sells phones. Now imagine that no one buys any phones from said store. What sense does it make to keep it open(and mind you keeping a store opens has costs it´s not free not even an online store)if your not making any profit from it?This is actualy a very smart move from Nokia(FINALY)by closing theyr online stores wich no one uses they cut costs

This is a best ever time for Nokia to get Android in all its phones.
Nokia has a great hardware for all its phones.
Nokia will eat samsung, lg plastic hardware if it gets Android (ICECREAMSANDWITCH)in its N8, E7 like phones.

Also Symbian needs some serious upgrades, its killing good brands...
Symbian should tie up with EA Sports and get a good number of outstanding 3D Games free in its OS. This will help.

It's a shame about the online stores, but expect some more to open when WP7 Nokia phones arrive :D

I wonder if the German store is staying open, so that if you want to order from the UK, you have to pay in Euros?

Nokia were the top of the game for many, many years. They hit a peak with the phenominal N95 8GB, but, since then it's been a downward spiral! Slowly Nokia are being pushed out of the market and the fact is, they've allowed it to happen. When was the last innovative release from Nokia that someone else hadnt done first?? It's been a while.

In the Netherlands virtually every phone is sold via either the carrier itself or via a private store that buys in contracts from the carriers and phones from the manufacturer. Basically no phones are being sold directly through the website of the manufacturer itself. Therefor, an online shop is obselete and thus unneeded expenses. As long as they keep providing support, they're doing their job.
