If you were all really that bothered about GB you'd have rooted your device ages ago and been running if for months thanks to people like Richard Trip, Adam G etc etc

This means the desire will keep outperforming an iphone4 for a while on software.
Now all I have to do is to switch the plastic lens for a saphire glass lens and the fotos and videos will be cristal clear and even better then the iphone.
Who needs a new phone now? This one will do the job perfectly.
    HTC does make Sense.

Classic case of "marketers" sitting down with the "researchers" ahahah
Make them buy a new phone, increase profits.." "Ermm.. they are already using it (gingerbread), we cant lie!!"

with reference to the 240ish comments on the news that htc won't be bringing the newest updates to the Desire - how many people are out there who are even aware of what updates bring what? The general population of phone users are plebs and don't give a monkeys' about what updates is what as long as their phone works.

Get real and think less highly of yourselves.

They should remove the sense UI from the update. Would be great!

HTC were about to lose customer's trust in their relaibility as a serious market player and hi end innovators. It is very good that they changed their mind and decided not to disapoint hundreds of thousands customers in exchange of few bucks saved from the salaries of their software engineers! HTC must realise that in such competitive environment they just can't afford to let down exixsting or potential customers otherwise they will be out of the game soon!

Bodisson, 16 Jun 2011HTC ditched Blackstone and other glorious models without mercy, so why shouldn't they ditch De... moreBecause the Desire was very very popular and it would most likely be that most of these users are at a time to get a new mobile, so keeping them happy would be in the best interests for HTC.

I beleive some knowledgable soul who loves android gingerbread, and HTC sense and knows a thing or two about software has made gingerbread with HTC sense on his/her own. when HTC revealed it yesterday he may have bragged to them 'i did it' and HTC adopted it. thats what i think anyway

HTC just announced that it will remove certain apps from gingerbread for desire to tackle the memory issue while upgrasing desire to android 2.3. This is no worry since it will allow those apps to be downloaded from market later after the uprade

Updates will start to rollout next week :-)
