If it's true then it's too stupid for SONY to... moreWell mate,that's the price of premium digital cameras today.They certainly aren't cheap,but you do get what you pay.Btw.competition prices are roughly the same;Nikon d850 and Canon Eos 5d m4,they cost $4-4.5k,incl.lens.
Oh,and Sony's smartphone department is a tiny drop in their portfolio,they make much more money on Playstation,not to mention everything else Sony makes this days.

I wish Sony could make their Mirrorless camera with Canon or Nikon mount. That would make lens compatibility a thing of past. Just pay licensing fees to Canon/Nikon.
When Tamron and Sigma can make lenses for Canon mounts, why not the other way round?

Had a7R II for a few days,and it was brilliant.
Now this new beast from Sony should be spectacular thing,fantastic AF features,and that new 24-105mm G lens is very tempting too.Though,current price for this combo is around $4.5k..a bit too much.Maybe there'll be some Christmas sale..

I guess the price for the best image quality will go back to Sony after Nikon stole it with the d850 - meanwhile Canon's FF offerings compete against sonys and Nikon's APS-c cameras in this department :D
And next year is about time that they improve even further their already improved Motion Eye™ Camera.
