This tech was one of the pinnacles of human inventions. Only this and Hololens was what managed to amuse me about capabilities of the human kind. RIP Kinect. You were the last bastion of a once great tech revolution. May the days are cool and nights warm were you now rest. You will sorely be missed.

I thought the tech at the time was epic for people who dont have the space to have home gyms and dont get to sweat because of crazy work hours having such a system to play with friends, kids, bf/gf etc was .. sadly they didnt pump money to better the tech and experience but i do love what it offers instead of lying down and playing a game actually being interactive .

Hate the resolution on mobile now, terrible for VR experience and then those dedicated ones has cables running all over, pretty much ruin the experience in a way. VR will be big but just not now.

Anonymous, 26 Oct 2017kinect = gimmick = dead, vr? possibly gonna be dead too.You do realize that some form of VR is the foretold future of humanity ever since humans became toolmakers, right?

You cannot beat destiny. There is literally no technology other than VR (or some form of it). Once VR gets big (one way or another) it will consume all other technologies. There is nothing you can do in the real world that you can't do better on VR... only problem with VR is that all of its implementations (even the current ones) its shoddy.

But being the master technology (the one to which ALL tech points too) betting against its eventuality is like betting against death (yeah good luck with that).

You cannot beat virtual environments. Everywhere and in any form they were implemented, they eventually subsumed the real ones. It's unbelieavably short sighted to think that VR will flop, even the blind see that it is the only future of humanity . Yes, the current implementation will probably fail (but there will be a next one and a next one, until we get it right ... it is our destiny to become mostly digital beings).

People concerned about privacy and it was impossible to play top titles with motion tracking system without controller, and people just started to ignore it. It is great technology but it is not belong to game industry, so Apple saw the opportunity and made it for better use

Microsoft just found that there's lot more profit in Spyware 10 OS. And pushing adverts on it.

So, all other projects, prepare to die. Windows mobile bit the bullet and now this.
